Instructors need to know the weaknesses of their students and help them build those weaknesses into strengths by engaging them in understanding how they learn, and giving them the tools to help them learn and understand how to navigate themselves in their chosen field.

Student learn better when using two senses and by using these senses they learn 60%-80% of the material. Powerpoint presentations should not be overloaded with with words, and the background colors should not interfere with the text of the powerpoint.

Always be prepared and organized before class to maximize any valuable time that you have to work with your students in teaching, showing and sharing skills and experiences of working in your field to keep your class engaged in their learning.

Culture and race are not the same. You can be of the same race and not the same culture. Culture is beliefs, food, upbringing, language and many other things about a person. Race is grouping people by the color of their skin. It is not fair in any way group any person or persons. Everyone is unique and they should be treated as such and respected. Accepting and appreciating one's differences is the best way to show that they matter, they are different, and any differences are appreciated. Being diverse/having diversity helps everyone. Generalizing and putting people of the same race/gender in the same categories not only disregards the individual as a person, it disregards everything about who they are, what they like and how they feel, and what interests they have as a person.

Find where you waste most of your time and figure out ways to manage your time better.

Keep notes of the mistakes you make and look back on them to not make them again.

Get to know your students. Learn strategies to keep them engaged and never accuse a student of cheating unless you have proof and you keep a record of it.

Challenging students need more ways to help become engaged in their learning.

You need to have a successful teaching strategy to be a successful instructor.  To find one, write down what has worked and did not work.
