Pre-engagement is important to create lasting relationships with the organizations and places of employment. Getting connected to the proper types of organizations for your specific institution will help the students the best. Keep relationships going with great communication and interaction with employers.

This training highlighted how crucial collaboration between workforce professionals and employers is in creating long-term, sustainable opportunities for job seekers. One key takeaway for me was the importance of building trust through consistent communication and follow-up. Employers need to see that we understand their workforce needs and that we can provide reliable, qualified candidates who fit both the role and the company culture.

From this module, I learned that preparation is key to building strong employer relationships. Understanding program outcomes, industry trends, and employer needs ensures credibility and meaningful conversations. I plan to apply this by researching local healthcare employers, reviewing program skills, and staying current with industry updates before outreach.

Opening up opportunites to be more collaborative with employers is such a key thing to do to ensure success for the students, the school, and the employers. Understanding who we are and how we can address any concerns, or highlight our strengths is important to building these relationships.

I learned the importance of knowing the full background of your institution as well as the industry, to be able to build strong relationships and finding quality matches of our students/graduates skill sets to industry-standard requirements. I also found the 5 stages of employer engagement framework to be helpful to help decipher the types of relationships built with employers, as well as more effective strategies to build and maintain employer relationships.

the importance of including employers in your school to conduct audits about the industry and address questions.

Speak with all employers 1-2 times a week by phone or email. Look for jobs and post.

The importance of the employer growth within your institution.

I learned the importance of involving employers in the campus as much as possible and am prepping an email to send out to employers inviting them to give classroom presentations to engage with students.

When talking with employers you have to know your stuff. How you can benefit them and they can benefit you. Know what your school offers employers like job postings or virtual interviews

AN open system such as a job board allows flexibility to our graduates!

I appreciate how this course outlines the journey that employers can take from advising to leading. I hope to evaluate any of our current employer relations and see where on the spectrum they align with this 5-step process. It would also be nice to come up with a plan (maybe 5 year goal) of how we can advance their relationships to support our graduate placement rates.

When engaging employers, using the five-part framework including advising, capacity building, co-designing, convening and leading can create successful relationships with the employers and the community while serving the institution.

It is important to tailor your employer engagement strategy to the specific needs of your institution and the employers in your community.
It is also important to build relationships with employers at all levels, from small businesses to large corporations.
There are many different ways to engage with employers, such as career fairs, internships, and apprenticeships.
It is important to track the outcomes of your employer engagement efforts so that you can measure your success and make necessary adjustments.

Working for a large community college that serves a lot of students and employers statewide, I think the question of what level of service is appropriate for our employment partners is important. We could benefit from thinking about the cost analysis of what we are providing them and what the outcomes are for our students.

I have a better understanding on how a solid relationship and partnership with employers can assists in growing my institution and increase the odds that my graduates will be employed quickly.

In a new role in employer engagement, I learned several strategies that can be used when meeting and engaging with employers.  The assessment module is also key in determining what we are doing and not doing in my institution.

I learned that employer engagement is key.  Creating and maintaing advisory boards and buy in from community stakeholders is crucial to understanding the needs of the local workforce and how to best prepare students to meet the.  The relationships with those trusted business partners can turn into internship, mentorship, job shadowing, employment, classroom speakers, and more to benefit the education of our learners and help prepare them for life outside of school.  To apply this, I will create a minimum of two adviorsories per year with feedback and knowledge on current industry trends and ideas for preparing our learners.
