I’ve found that modeling myself as an effective listener and compassionate advisor has made a real difference in how my students respond to me. Many of them are more receptive when they feel truly heard and understood, so I focus on building that trust through empathy and active listening. From this module, I learned that preparation is key to building strong employer relationships. Understanding program outcomes, industry trends, and employer needs ensures credibility and meaningful conversations. I plan to apply this by researching local healthcare employers, reviewing program skills, and staying current with industry updates before outreach.

I learned that developing strong relationships with both students nd employers is the key to long-term success. When trust and communication are built early, it is easier to make better matches and support retention. 

I learned that managing a job order is more than just sending resumes, Its about preparing candidates, following up, and staying in close contact with employers. I'll apply this by supporting students through interviews and keeping employers updated to build a stronger partnership.  

I've learned that contacting employers is not just about making phone calls but about making impactful long-term partnerships. Asking open-ended questions, listening closely, and handling objections respectfully can uncover real needs within the employer. I plan to apply to this by focusing on both quantity and quality of phone calls, documenting interactions, and tailoring the approach to better connect employers with students/ graduates. 

My biggest takeaway from this section is the importance of understanding the industry in depth. By learning more about medical assisting and the medical field as a whole, staying current and up to date with the variety of roles and settings the students can enter, as well as the skills they gain through the program, and being able to discuss them effectively with future employee partners. This knowledge will allow me to secure more effective job orders and strengthen relationships with employers and industry professionals.
