At the end of the day a mutually beneficial relationship is going to have a strong ROI for both the school and the emploeyrs.

Engaging with employers is a key to having successful partnerships. A successful partnership goes both ways and will help elevate both the school and the employer in its endeavors.

I've found myself giving up too easily instead of objection handling. Even though it won't work 100% of the time any little additional effort will help in the long run if it gets even one or two more people changing their mind from no to yes.

Opening up opportunites to be more collaborative with employers is such a key thing to do to ensure success for the students, the school, and the employers. Understanding who we are and how we can address any concerns, or highlight our strengths is important to building these relationships.

If there is less employee turnover at a company the better chance you'll have a long lasting relationship. I need to make sure to have students understand the positions they like and how to grow within them.

I'm guilty of sending a bunch of people I have to try and fill a job order, I think having a small detailed statement about the students I send will go a long way to ensuring better relationships.

AS someone who doesn't keep diligent notes on each phone call that I make I can see the value in keeping a detailed log of all interactions so you're not rehashing the same points.

One of the biggest takeaways is understanding the program I'm a Career Services Advisor for. Understanding the technology that my students are learning and using on a daily basis is the key to getting buy in from the employers I'm reaching out to. If I can talk with them on the level they need me to it'll create more effective job orders that will be beneficial both short and long term!
