That students learn best when they feel connected to the community outside of the classroom.

Learned great info regarding student empowerment and them taking ownership of their learning the material and skills and its application in the field.

Teach students to take responsibility.

the more one feels engaged the more one believes they are be able to do it build confidence and teamwork and leadership skills

student empowerment through other non classroom activities like lab and small group activities.

Very good information. When students feel a connection with the discussions in the classroom, students will feel more empowered in their participation and responding to other students.

The more students are invested in themselves, by understanding the denouement of the investment, the more willing they will be to taking ownership for their education ultimately their outcome.

I work in a BIE school where higher education can be threatening. It is important for students to feel safe in their learning environment.

Using technology in teaching offers numerous benefits that can enhance the learning experience for both students and educators.

Empowering your students involves creating an environment that fosters autonomy, responsibility, and confidence in their abilities.

When students feel ownership over their learning, they are more likely to be intrinsically motivated. They are driven by their own curiosity, interests, and desire to improve, rather than external rewards or pressures. This intrinsic motivation leads to deeper engagement and better retention of knowledge.

Students need to be invested in their education and with that investment will be more involved.

Good information. I hope to keep students engaged by relating to life experiences.

good information with empowerment

I like the emphasis on students needing to think of education as an investment in themselves.  Students need to be engaged in the learning process and take ownership of their learning.

The fact that students motivation is strengthened with "ownership" and a deep connection to what they are learning through real world experiences resonated with me the most.  The culinary program I work in does this by having students showcase work that they have chosen in our restaurant each week.  Most students do take ownership of the assignments, show excitement, and learn a great deal from the experience.

Connection to the school outside of the classroom is important.

When teaching I need to reinforce the relationship between general education and how students can take responsibility for applying these skills in their jobs. their own learning

This section has taught me that students need to learn more than just the course content. They need to also acquire real world skills that empower them to become successful professionals. This can be done by including elements in the coursework (assignments, tests, quizzes) that force the students to contemplate themselves and develop critical thinking, accountability, and self-discipline.

Student's retention is enhanced when they are required to own the process.
