The students need to be encouraged and allowed to self discover what they need to learn

Students will always need encourgement and need to feel valued and feel like they can be successful.

Students need to be valued and an instructor can make sure that happens helping them be more motivated in the course.

Students need to be invested in their education and with that investment will be more involved.

This module provided information about the different types of students you can have.  There is not that much difference between online and traditional class settings.  No two people are alike so we will always have diversity as to the type of students we have.

Discussion questions are a major part of an online class.  Knowing how to help students respond to discussion questions and carry out a discussion is the responsibility of the instructor.

This module helped communicate and give ideas on how a professor can make their presence known.  I like the idea of making videos rather than just typing up an announcement and I may try that next time.

When you are an online instructor it is important to be familiar with your course, just as if you are a student.  My take away is to make sure I know the course as if I am a student so I am able to help students with questions.
