I have learned that instructors do most of their class management work before the class begins. They bring management to the classroom by knowing the subject matter they are teaching and share it throughout the class time.
As a leader in the classrom an instructor should demonstrate professionalism at all times. It doesn't mean that the instructor is aloof or unfriendly. Professionalsim involes conduct, dress and handling of situations.
