Admissions Requirements

All institutions have different requirements when it comes to the admissions process. Every school has many programs in which there are different pre requisites in order to enroll in such program. It is our responsability as admissions representatives, to be aware of these requirements in order to be in compliance with accrediting agencies and the department of education.

Admissions Staff Training

In my opinion, it is important to have constant training in order to stay up to date with all of the rules and regulations put in place by the Dept. of Education as well as accrediting agencies.

Very interested in learning more. Topics I would not have thought of.

Continual Learning

Key to being sucessful in constantly staying abreast of not only policies and procedures but of what's going on in the industries that your students are preparing to enter, so that you are knowledgeable about career placement and opportunities.

Refund/Withdraw Policies

I think they did a great job in explaining how crucial this is and it is only fair that students know what they are getting themselves into. Clarity on the part of the institution maintains its integrity, so that there are no surprises in the case that a student is not entitled to a full refund.

Student Services

I think student services is a very important piece, to help students and help with retention. Do all schools have student services?

Interesting rule in regards to titles of "counselor/advisor"

I found the most interesting part of this section to be the prohibition of using the titles of "admissions counselor" or "admissions advisor". In a previous role in NJ, my title was "admissions counselor" and much of my responsibilities were the same. I never gave it much thought, however, now I see how this term can be misleading as the ultimate goal in recruitment and enrollment.

Admission's Staff Training Course

I really like the fact that Florida has their admission's staff keep up to date with continuing education. I think this is very helpful and we can never stop learning.
