ED 102 program

I just completed ED 102 and it reinforced what I have been doing, but also gave me a few new ideas to help out in my classroom.

Just completed ED310

I have just completed the ED310 and learned so many new ways to incorporate fun in teaching medical terminology.  I have enjoyed doing the other training courses as well, but this one provided the examples of ideas and activities that could be used.  I will definitely be including these in my future lessons....

I Just Completed E 104

I just completed E 104 and there were many good ideas in the course. I have been using most of them already.. ; I also try to keep things changed up from class to class as each person learns in different ways.

Communicating in an Online Course

I just completed "Online Language:  Communicating with Students."   This course was very informative and one of the best MaxKnowledge courses I have participated in.  Thank you.

ED110 Completion

Hi All,

I feel that ED110 was a great lesson to learn. I had fun and moved through the lessons pretty quickly. Not only did I enjoy the materials that we covered in the lesson but I also learned some new techniques to deal with the stresses that I have in my daily life. Hope you also enjoy!

ED 103 course completion

  1. What have you learned? The topic that impressed me the most was Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs).  I was already familiar with the different types of objective testing.

  2. How can you apply it? I plan to apply Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) in my professional practice.

  3. What support do you need? The link that was supplied in the course was a great beginning resource and I plan on researching Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) in more depth.

The link below provides a collection of CATs you may want to use in your classroom: http://www.ntlf.com/html/lib/bib/assess.htm

Who is right

I have encountered some situations lately with students entering the clinical setting who seem not to understand that everyone does not teach the same and that since one lecturer told them something in the didactic portion of their course that it must be positively true and my information must be incorrect.  I explained that information presented is the same but we are now applying it to a patient, and they are not textbooks.  I attribute this resistance to the student being young and somewhat overwhelmed, but had a rough time convincing her to trust that I would not steer her… >>>

testing methods

The testing methods like objective questions are useful to test student knowledege about factual information like dates, numbers, names and terms etc. while the short answers can give idea about the student knowledge about various steps or sub topics involved in solution to the problem. The essay questions enable students to express their view about a particulsr solution to the problem in a expressive manner while presenting it iwith rational approach based on the facts leading to solving the problem in a step wise manner to justify the student response..

The Center-Stage Student

Oh my goodness!  I have a center-stage student that have had every pathology I've taught.  Sometimes, this student goes on and on.  I will definitely use the observer technique.

lecture and instructional delivery methods

This course lays emphasis on being  a professional and maintaining  professional distance with students to develop respect for the student -teacher relation in the class room.It emphasises on being prepared and following agenda and sticking to class activity plan to prevent mistakes and pre class jitters. the course allows us tro realise how to avoid common mistakes that happen without our awareness and affect proper teaching.

the course was helpful and enables the instructor to organise efficiently and present the lecture with an understanfding of student expectations and course requirement

ED 105

I enjoyed the discussion on making up and scoring exams.  The evaluations have to be as diverse as our students.

ED 104

The course was particularly helpful when it discussed mistakes instructors sometimes make.  Good refresher to help stay on task.

ED104

This class is a much more effective learning tool than the other online professional development modules I have participated in.  The topics are authentic everyday situations that teachers run into.  The course does not deal with educational theories, but, instead, deals primarily with real-life, real-world topics and real-life, real-world suggestions on how to approach classroom teaching and students.

This is helpful to me.

I find that these coures help me reflex on my style of teaching and what I can do to become a much more effective teacher.

ED 104

Very good Class. I need more time for reading and taking notes.

Class 104

I found the class to be very informative. I teach at a high school during the day and a career college at night. It is always nice to read about what other teachers do in their classrooms and how they handle certain situations.

activities

I really liked the airplane activity because there are so many students that have made them in the past and might find this activity fun plus they would learn group work and listening skills by having the students whose plane flew the furthest, explain their process. I'm also going to incorporate the "blue card" method for discussion since our school implements laptops in the classroom which can cause a huge distraction.

Virtual Groups vs. Real Groups

I personally think these courses would be much more effictive and pertinent if we debriefed as a cohort or group after taking the course. This would help instructuors share their experiences and we together can learn from one another. This coarse was all lecture, and virtual reflection, how about discussion these subjects with our peers? I think we as instructors would benefit greatly from this type of activity.

GREAT INFO

This course had great useful information relevant to the day to day class situations I'm exposed to. I will begin implementing these tools immediately.

question regarding working under pressure

why would any instructor at a career college or any college want a student to work under pressure in a class room setting'..never
