I learned quite a few things that I know I will use in the classroom, once my classes start up.  Even though I took the first two sections within two days and life hit me hard and couldn't finish till between yesturday and today I retained a lot of information from the first two.

ED 105

ED 105 was very informational and I was able to gain some valuable points for future use.

Dealing with Behavioral Issues

This course taught me how to deal with difficult students.  It gave me the knowledge to handle these issues effectively and keep the class on track.

Good course.  Enjoyable and easy to follow.  Good ideas for insructors at all levels.

Dealing with pre-set rules

It would be nice, I think, to be able to make my own assessments and lesson plans.  The reason I say, I think, is because the corporate office governs what we teach, in what order, and our grading.  They tell us we can't give extra credit, we can't round scores, we can't change the grading policy.... etc.

Because of this, I have students going out in the field, who have passed every class, but never passed an assessment !  This person is now representing me and my school, and it won't be a good impression.

Course Objectives

I learned a lot through this course.  It was a great refresher on how to keep students motivated and how to provide feedback effectively.  It's nice to be reminded that we are all human and students need to feel appreciated at all times.

POWs

I just finished my course and came away thinking that being an instructor is what I enjoy doing the most.  Taking the course has motivated me to want to learn more in education.

ED102

I just completed the course and it was a good refresher of student retention.  Sometimes in higher education we forget that students learning can be impacted by outside factors and it was good to review these and implement new strategies in ensuring that we as instructors communicate their success through feedback.

ED 101

great material, something I can use on a daily basis. Thank you!

On-Ground Learning

This course is a great way to organize your on-ground class as well as e-learning.  I'm glad I was able to work through this course.  I printed off some of the pages for review for later.

Effective Teaching Strategies

This course could possibby what I need at time. I have learned ideas that I hope to incorporate in my courses. As I incorporate the ideas, I hope to return to this forum and share my insights and successes.

ED 101

This course was very fun, and information. I think that college should make there instructor complete this course

ED102

I think one of the best axioms that can be espoused was found in this course, i.e. “You don't have to be perfect; you just have to be yourself.” Whereas we may have high expectations of our students , they and we are just human and the learning environment should be centered around that truism. Sometimes we and our administrative staff hold expectation that creates tension and unease which can be easily transferred into the classroom. It’s difficult enough being an instructor without any additional pressures. We should keep in mind all of our expected and numerous roles of presenter,… >>>

Charging Your Batteries - REFOCUS

I particularly found the topic of "Charging Your Batteries & REFOCUS" to be of significant value and practicality. After learning and applying this methodology I found myself "recharged and enthused" after a particularly bad week!
