More Than You Know

I teach People Skills so Course 106 Has helped me not only to upgrade my knowledge on teaching, lecturing and putting the students into groups, but it also help me put together a few lesson plans while I was going through the course.

Motivating the Instructor, as well as, the students.

I have been teaching for over 15 years in many diverse capacities. I think that it is important to continually look for new ways to energize how we, as instructors, feel about the field of teaching.  It is very easy to become "burned out" on what we teach, especially if the course variation is not changed periodically.  The students definitely recognize our motivation level as well as their own and it reflects their engagement in the course.

What a great tool!

This course had so much useful information relevant to the day to day class situations I'm exposed to. I will begin implementing these tools immediately.

Class Ed106

In the beginning I thought this class would be a waste of time. However, after taking the time to read the  information I was completely wrong. I will use the new gained knowledge in my classroom.

ED 104

I found the lessons to be most valuable and reconfirming. The topic I learned the most from was handling an angry student. Although this does not happen often, understanding the techniques with validation was most assuring.

class 105

The course was very helpful to learn about the different way students see us as instructors and our role as the leaders.

thank you

this course was pretty informative i will apply what i have learned

ED310

All the content from this course was very helpful and will be useful in finding new and improved ways to help my students learn.

Thank you,

Challenges

The main challenges that I faced during this course were the constant interruptions from staff and students alike.  I would prefer to complete each module in one sitting.

ED101

This was a wonderful adventure!  I found support for what I already do; fuel for expansion and growth and new methods to bring the very best to my students.  I look forward to participating in more Courses.

Thank you.

                                                                   http://www.rareshare.org

RareShare was founded in early 2008 on the idea that there is a better way to bring together patients, families and healthcare professionals to share knowledge and personal experiences about rare medical disorders and disabilities.

While rare disorders and disabilities may seem to impact only a small portion of the population, together they affect over 30 million individuals in the United States and Europe alone.

Due to the comparably low level of occurrences of individual rare disorders, there is often a lack of information and support for patients and their families. Our communities are designed for people to share>>>

non english speakers

I have found when teaching students who don't speak english very well - I print up my entire powerpoint for them and give it on the first day of class. This allows then to read over it at home and then they can ask me questions

learning dissabilities

It can be quite challenging to work with students in a class that are diverse but also having dissabilities.  It can be frustrating to some students when mixed with the dissabled student.  This is where the art of facilitating is essential. Thoughts?

Overall improvment in student participation

I have learned quite a few tricks in breaking the ice, having students participate more in discussions.

Use of technology in the classroom

In some ways all the technology has helped me become a more informed and probably a more well rounded instructor. Students are viewed as learners in a traditional classroom. Technology tools allows students along with instructors to become not only learners (absorbing information) but now researchers as well. There is room for more independent thinking through participation. However, some students may need support in this area. I have found that once students have participated in an on-line class then the second time around they excell in using the on-line tools. I have found it is kind of like driving a car without… >>>

training

this has helped me to better understand what students need to learn,  outside of the matirial

Many training mediums

I have taken the opportunity to utilize my recent experience as an online instructor to broaden my horizons in training development. I find it fascinating - how people learn.

I spent this last quarter writing my first online course and found it to be much more of a challenge than I thought, but have learned a lot. I look forward to writing my next class with all that I have learned about creating instructional media.

elearning/online classes

I am so excited about these learning modules. I have gained so much insight on managing students and great ideas on how to help my nontraditional students. I look forward to using some of the ideas I have learned, and I look forward to utilizing more learning modules.
