Transcending Learning "Types"

If the insructor is passionate about the information being studied, there will be a genuine attempt to present the material in as many ways as possible. By doing so, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning needs are met, and retention is strengthened. I question the premise that an instructor needs to know each student's learning strengths; however, I do imagine that there may be a significant advantage to a student knowing his/ her's learning strengths, and requesting the material be presented in a way that he/she may best understand, and, hence, retain, the information being shared.

Throwning down the gauntlet

When I was in law school, no one ever asked me (or cared) what kind of learner I am.  Ditto for when I was getting my Ph.D. Yet somehow I got through both law school and my clinical psychology program.  I never had an employer ask me what kind of learner I am still I have been gainfully employed for the last 20 years.  In 20 years of teaching both full and part-time I have never asked my students what kind of learners they are and yet somehow I was nominated for "Teacher of the Year" by my university and… >>>

New To Online Teaching

I certainly gained a lot of knowledge from EL 102.  I am definitely going to use many of the ideas in the upcoming term.  I plan to utilize many of the ways to show my presence and also many of the ways to get everyone involved in the discussion boards. 

I have participated in several MaxKnowledge online courses before and I think this one was the most beneficial to me so far.  I am looking forward to participating in more. 

Newbie Educated!...

I found most of the content relevant to challenges I face on a daily basis during my classes.  Management of the classroom environment is difficult at times when dealing with certain student types.  I will try some of the techniques I have learned here in my next class.

Presenting Informative Lectures And Showing Different Application Techniques

    Teaching can be an art for everyone especially if its done in an efficient and effective way. Informative lectures serves as real source of knowledge for students. Informative lectures shows how updated an instructor can be and how he can relate each info to the application process. With the existence of modern technology., different application techniques should be used to add diversity to the whole process and to increase the interest of students in learning the subject matter. Over all courses are well presented and good improving techniques are given. And knowing about students diabilities in learning, reading and writing and in comprehension is very helpful and how can theh be helped.
