I learned that module creation must be within a consistent framework and must be tested. Learning objects are very valuable to module and site creation and save time.

Keeping a module consistent and easy to work in is essential. It should be a student friendly format with learning objects that support the content. I like the idea of having a location for all of my information to keep it together and organized.

The most important information in this lesson is being consistent when developing the modules. Keep things similar to assist in the learning process.

The consistency in what on the surface seems simple like font choice, size and color. I like the idea if creating an instant visual recognition like a red box with blue writing that always signals the same thing.. like disucssion , quiz, etc. Very useful idea I had not thouht of.

I learned of the importance of consistency in module construction and operations. It is best to strive to not let the technology get in the way of learning.

I learned that prepping the students for what is coming in the modules allows the studet more time to organize the information to their system and this organizatino saves time and effort when studying the content.

It is important to include time for revision and testing to create and verify consistency in module framework and material presentation.  Never underestimate the role of an "editor" in the creative process of course development.

I learned the importance of creating a database to store content such as graphics, videos, and other learning tools.  I can use this database to select content for the different courses I teach.

The reason behind consistency especially with assignments and information definetly improves the retention and recall of the students. I also find that when things are consistent the students increase their independence by knowing how to do tasks with minimal assistance.

It is necessary to use consistent template formatting and ensure brevity in the materials to ensure student interest is maintained throughout the course.

How a data base of learning objects will help you deliver the lesson in a way the student understands the material and doesn't lose interest

As I have learned through "trial and error" delivering a thoughtful and relevant course module that addresses my students' course learning outcomes is absolutely essential in helping my students learn history in a distance learning venue. The area of authoring a vibrant course module takes time and experience that forces one to constantly "tweak" your course module to fit your pedagogical everchanging priorities of your course and how to best deliver your course to your students.

I will definitely make sure now that my modules are consistant in size, layout, etc.  I had never really thought about the importance of that before, but now it makes sense.  I love the idea of the learning object database, but I will have lessons that can use the same learning objects.

I learned that content is very important and also chunking the information so the students can stay focused on the learning assignement.

Being organized as well and being prepared so the students can have the best learning experience...

From this topic I have learned the importance of being consisitent with course module creation so that the students are not 'stressed' when they come across a different format. Even in a traditional brick and mortar environment, students tend to not appreciate when differences occur in their learning enviornment.

You must organize your online learning and a good technique is using modules and breaking it down to what's best for you

One thing I learned and plan on applying from this module is course consistancy. Many times in the past I don't save templates and resources correctly and then waste time going back and looking for the same resoureces.

Also making sure everything is constant for the students. Once they learn how a template is set up there is no need to mix it up. It only causes confusion especially during e-learning.

Course consistency and chunking will ensure better student engagement. Also, I agree that videos should be no longer than 5-10 minutes.

I learned that consistency in design is essential for students to be able to navigate the course materials. Also, I learned that having a place to store documents, clips, course materials can save time because you can use them for different courses or at different times.

Scaling down larger lessons into smaller chunks is something that I have been trying to do lately.  My initial thought for making video lectures would not consider having small chucks, since a student could pause the video when needed; however, breaking the lecture down into a series would force the student to stop and reflex, and it would force me to consciously create small activities, practice problems, etc. that could be done between each part of the lecture series.

Consistency is key when maing templates. One must put themselves in the students view.
