This was again another great module. I have learned the importance of the instructor's biography. I think it's a wonderful idea for all instructors to have one for their students to read. It will help students be able to relate to their instructors on not only a professional level but a personal one too.

I LIKED THE SUGGESTIONS THEY MADE FOR THE BIOS. lITTLE THINGS I DIDNT THINK ABOUT

It is important for both the instructor and the student to post their biographies.

I learned that it is important to support your students online as if it was in -person class sessions.

I believe that having an instructor- student relationship is important and it will help the student succeed

It is important to project your presence as an instructor because students will get to know who you are and the level of participation will increase.

I thought the recommendation to post a picture from head-to-shoulders was interesting, I suppose this implies the picture was not cropped and it's authentic.

I appreciate the recommendation to not only send an overall announcement to all students welcoming them to the course by the end of the first day but also an individualized personalized message based on each student's bio that would let the students know as an instructor you have taken the time to read each bio to get a better understanding of them as an individual.

I intend to apply that tidbit of 'introductions' to the courses I teach.

Comment on veronica Gottau's post: I agree with you Ms. Gottau, this will allow you to know your students and begin a conversation with your students. Allow them to feel you care about them and that your interested in who they are personally.

I learned that different instructors will teach different methods, and that is okay. I need to familiarize with course delivery techniques and strategies.

What he said, yes.

Reminders and monitoring of discussions can be great ways to project your presence as an instructor.

Both the instructor and students, especially online, should post a short bio about themselves to help break down some walls of communication. The instructors background in many ways can influence trust from a student, and an introduction video for example can also help personalize that experience. This will help trust to increase, and better student performance.

I appreciated the strategies for projecting your presence into the virtual classroom and am looking forward to implementing some of the suggestions (such as asking students to share brief biographies of themselves) in my next virtual class.

Follow up with every student promptly with answers to any questions I don't know.  Set lab hours.

Establish your presence and authority with students in a positive way, and also showcase your credentials and experience so learners trust your knowledge and information. Get to know them on a personal level to make them more comfortable in the learning environment.

It takes a special kind of person to teach online.

It helps students to know your academic and professional experience. This lets the students see that you are qualified to be teaching them the subject matter.

Posting information about yourself and have students submit a bio with course expectations. The student info can give me more insight to each student.

What I took out of this module so far is that in order to Project my presence is to build a foundation by presenting a biography of myself and expectations. Help the students feel prepared by providing a detailed itinerary with a variety of learning tools such as video clips, audio text, and a printable version of studies. Lastly, establishing baseline relationships by requesting a biography of each student to help get to know them and what their expectation of the course would be.

I learned how instructors can project an online authority and presence through various postings about themselves and their expectations.

It is the students right or they are entitled to know our qualifications and experience similarly in order to know our students better & meet their educational needs they can post their picture and a short biography . I can apply the same when the need for on line instruction arises .
