Details, details, details.
It´s very interest to understand the language of the standards and how each agency present the standard's criterias.
A sample standard from a national or regional accrediting agency will be used to examine the language and intention of the standard followed by a discussion of how institutions should respond to the standard to demonstrate how institutional practices meet the criteria. The course will use the standards from a variety of national and regional accrediting commissions, and you will be encouraged to examine your own commission’s standards using the same process the examples provide. You will want to have the copy of your commission’s accreditation criteria and your last self-study nearby as we consider the administrative standards.
The importance of responding to all the criteria, not just what is applicable to your specific campus/school.
I'm learning that you must answers in a precise manner that addresses what the accreditors are asking. You can't assume with vague answers.
This section reaffirmed my understanding that accreditation administrative criteria are necessary to ensure that institutions have the necessary administrative structures and processes in place to support their mission and maintain quality and effectiveness.
It is important to have measurable standards for institutional effectiveness.
I believe the best takeaway from this section is specificity. This is an instance where over explaining can do you a world of good it would seem. Be prepared to understand and answer all standards not only the ones you think would apply to your institution.
The importance of providing complete answers that actually provide the information that is being asked. It was helpful to see the complete response versus the not complete response. This will be beneficial to recall when writing narratives for accreditation.
Accreditation is a narrative process, and it's not enough to assert compliance through paraphrasing the standards.
By comprehending both the language and intention of administrative criteria, institutions can navigate the accreditation process successfully and build a solid foundation for continuous improvement and educational excellence.
I have learned that for both administrative and academic standards, it is important to understand that how an institution writes its self study report is critical to the success of its bid for accreditation.
This section relays the importance of fully responding to every criteria even if it doesn't apply to your institution. Also, it stresses the importance of answering how you comply and not just that your institution complies with the standard.
Getting to know the standards related to administrative functions, as well as interpreting them according to the institutions' own criteria.
Understanding that instituions not only need to be effective in accomplishing their mission, but they have to demonstrate it too.
Therefore, institutions have to: establish ways to measure efectiveness. This measures will help demonstrate the visiting team compliance with the standards.
We've also learnt about the importance of writing a good description of how the institution reaches the standard/s of accreditation.
Poder ver y entender como es que se debe de hacer el autoestudio ya que es una parte vital para la acreditacion, su desglose para todos los campos y sobre todo la descripcion del colegio.
