Title XI and VACA regulations

This section really highlights the importance of advertising and marketing. For example, students or prospective students need to be able to have access to some form of pamphlet, slideshow, or any type of visual that educates the students on school operations as well as the prospects of the school. In addition, there are many regulations/rules set in place on a government level that enforces schools to maintain integrity because doing anything that violates those regulations can cause an institution to shut down.

Don't speak about competitors- highlight your own institution benefits. Always keep the highest standards.

I learned that maintaining competitive integrity is essential. This includes avoiding disparaging or misleading remarks about other institutions and ensuring that all communications remain professional, factual, and ethical.

Be careful when discussing competitors and just focus on your program/statistics along with the facts.

What compliance looks like in an online format. Maintaining professional standards with students/prospective students when discussing other institutions. Resources for Veterans to compare approved schools.

I learned to be mindful of how you represent your institution, and bad-mouthing others only makes you unprofessional. Also, make sure to provide school disclosures to ensure there is no misrepresentation.

1. Accuracy and clarity in program representation are part of instructional responsibility
As an instructor, I learned that even classroom‑level discussions can implicate compliance. Statements about licensure preparation, job outcomes, program quality, or accreditation must be accurate, supported by required disclosures, and never framed in a way that implies state endorsement or guaranteed results. What instructors say carries institutional weight.

2. Students must receive critical information before commitment, not after
The emphasis on providing the catalog and School Performance Fact Sheet prior to enrollment reinforced that informed consent begins well before instruction starts. From an instructional standpoint, this means supporting transparency, reinforcing written disclosures when questions arise, and ensuring students understand program expectations, outcomes, and limitations early in their educational journey.

3. Consistent messaging protects both students and instructional integrity
This module clarified the importance of alignment between what is taught, what is advertised, and what is formally disclosed. As an instructor, I intend to apply this by ensuring my course descriptions, academic guidance, and outcome discussions remain consistent with approved materials and regulatory standards, helping maintain trust and compliance within the learning environment.

The right of every student to know accurate information regarding the institution they are attending.  What funding is available, what are course objectives. Understanding what can happen if information is not accurate regarding fines.  That there are numerous programs, laws and legislation regarding schools.

Even though we are competive and want people to come to us, its not ok to trash talk another school.

Learned not to speak negatively on companies that are competition. Abide by the rules written for students safety.

Competitive integrity not making disparaging remarks about another institute.

Response should be clear and accurate.

Be sure not to badmouth other competitors.

I learned there are many regulations and criteria for students and schools to protect all.

Learned about Tuition Recovery and GI Bill

I learned that under the FEPRA, all rights transfer to the student once they turn 18 or begin postsecondary school, regardless of who is paying the tuition.  A university cannot release a students private information to parents without the students explicit written consent.

I learned how important it is to maintain compliant and professional communication with students, especially when representing the institution. One section that stood out to me was the information about the GI Bill and VA benefits. It was very informative and helped me batter understand how these benefits work and what schools must do to stay in compliance when assisting veterans and military students. I plan to apply what I've learned by being more aware of how I communicate, especially when discussing sensitive topics like financial aid or student benefits.

In regard to communication compliance, there are many state and federal regulations to comply with and abide by. Students and potential students have the right to be informed of many aspects of an institution through a variety of communication venues.

I learned the importance of providing accurate information and the consequences that can happen if the rules and policies are not followed. It is crucial to stay up to date on the recent regulations both state and federal.
