I learned some new tools to encourage critical thinking.
I agree, Chanda. Not all students come in with strong critical thinking skills, so it’s important to create assignments that gradually build them up. Scaffolding and real-world examples can really help students see the value in developing these skills.
Some students may be resistant to learning critical thinking skills so helping them to develop them is essential. Some students may have developed these skills while others may not. Providing assignments that will help them in this area can be effective.
In this module, I have learned the 6 steps of effective thinking and problem solving. I plan to use written dialogue/ case studies and K-W-L charts to help students to get a better understanding of the information being taught.

Teaching students in a non-biased environment facilitates effective learning.
I learned that critical thinking helps students analyze and solve problems effectively. I’ll apply this by using simple strategies like open-ended questions and problem-solving frameworks in class. I will also apply the KWL (Know, Want to know, Learned) method.

Critical thinking is crucial for students today. This is a skill that students will use in the workplace as well as in their personal lives. I loved the idea of the silent conversation. What a great opportunity for quiet students to have the chance to share.

It goes beyond just literacy skills, but how students engage with and understand practices within specific subject areas-ours would be medicine and specifically nursing.
Students are learning a new way of communicating vital information.
