What are the current best practices for engaging students on social media?

Your Communication Methods

we prefered to use face to face method of comunication because the capacity to answer question at the moment it is important for the courses that we have.

Communicating in a virtual world

I find sometimes it is difficult to communicate through emails, and instant messaging all the time, because you can't understand the tone of person. Sometimes you read more into things that what should be. . .thoughts or tips

Leads

How do you determine who gets the leads when calls come into the office?

Goals

This new generation has no goals set.

Turning critics into players.

I have found that our team is divided in groups that tend to throw blame over other members of the team. I am sure that is not a new thing in any company. Friendly meetings that invite the members to get excited about projects and promotes "brainstorming", almost always create an atmosphere of cooperation and unity.

Follow up call

what would be the estimated time for a follow up call?

No Shows

what is the appropriate number of days in a row should you call(if they are not answering)to see when they would like to Re-Schedule an appointment?

Creative ways to get call backs

I have tried ...this is our most popular program, I have a class beginning next week, seating is limited, I'm so excited and would like to help you get started.

Hidden obstacles

What should the main hidden obstacles be that should not be mentioned over the phone?

Call Brevity

In the "TEN COMMANDMENTS" for outbound calls, Rule #3 states that we are to keep our calls brief and that the purpose of the call is to make the appointment. We are certainly to build rapport, gather information and give information, but we still want to keep it brief. On the quiz, #5 says, "It is essential that you keep your calls brief. TRUE or FALSE? I answered True since this is what Commandment #3 said. But it was marked wrong. False is the answer because we are to build rapport. These are contradictory. Please advise as to the correct course of action.

Tone of voice

I'm wondering why in Module 1 we were told to change our tone on inbound calls but in Module 2 we were told to use an even tone for outbound calls; each call is just as important so why the difference?

Dependent Students

Many times when we tell students under the age of 24 to come in with their parents or their parents taxes for financial aid they say they support themselves, do not live at home, or do not speak with their parents. Many parents are uncooperative and will not provide their information or sign for loans. Do you have any suggestions to overcome this? Dependent students cannot receive financial aid without parents income information.

Actively listening

This is a subject that is needed while others in your office are speaking

Success story

At what point did you say to yourself, this is why I am an Admissions Rep? Give an example of a time when you changed someone's life!

body language

was the most interesting to me because I fell its something we always have to work on and improve

The Importance of Press Releases

The second sentence of this module stated, you don't need to be a great writer to write a press release? I completely disagree. You must be an excellent writer! You must know how to communicate not just facts but why that press release is newsworthy to whoever you are sending it to. If it's just another copy paste or mundane press release - trust me, no one will want to publish it. TV producers, editors, bloggers, and trade professionals will ask for press releases and they will have to make an impact, if they don't..then why would your community be interested? Remember these media contacts are being pitched by thousands of PR firms and every day news - so make it relevant! And don't forget to follow-up via phone.

Mirroring Can Be Tricky

I have tried mirroring in the past and you have to be careful so that the other person is not consciously picking up on it and shutting you down. I always try to keep my hands in my lap, give them eye contact, smile, share stories of myself, and genuinely and sincerely help them to relax allowing them to think of their questions and concerns.

Body Language Speaks Louder Than Words

I am so aware of my body language. I have a tendency to cross my arms when I am standing speaking with a student. And now I can see how it could be misconstrued as being guarded, closed off, uninterested. I try with each student encounter to make sure we part each other's company happy.
