Test

I teach creative individuals who are attempting to become working artists. I have found tests based around skill tasks to be the best method of assessing understand of the core techniques they will need to use every day on the job.

Students need feedback

I have found that early and often assessment have yielded the best student outcomes.

Redirecting questions

I love using this technique in class, keeps students engaged, on their toes, and away from Facebook.

Learning Styles

What a revelation! Used information about Kinesthetic learning to help a student understand a concept in class. The topic was how to move objects in a 3D space. One student was having a difficult time comprehending the lecture, but when I used some cubic blocks to demonstrate, and invited him to play with them, he finally got it. Very cool stuff. Thanks for the information.

Delivery

One must ensure we address every learning type to ensure all students are being instructed and giving the same opportunity to succeed in the class.

A first impression

A first impression can only be done the first time. It goes hand to hand with prepared and organized for class.

Planning

It is very important to always be prepared. Our students will know when we are prepared and organized.

Order of Topics

How important is it to follow the order provided in this module?

first class

To ensure the instructor and students learn each others expectations I ask students to write me a note sharing about themselves and what they expect from the course. The success is proven in the motivation of students and helps me meet all expectations.

planning ideas

As an instructor what models do you use that help you prepare and plan?

providing resources to students

As an instructor I strive to provide resources that are high tech and high touch to students. High tech meaning sharing the latest and best websites and internet resources.High touch meaning the best places to network to find the perfect job after graduation. Please share any resources that have helped you or your students.

The Importance of the First Day Impression

The tone for the entire course gets set from the first impression an instructor makes in the classroom. If the levels of professionalism, concern for the students, passion for the material, and a comfortable learning environment aren't obvious to the students, then it will take considerable effort to establish or re-build those later.

i spend at least 30 a day with the students that have learning disablity

i always do one on one with my learning challenge students

student organization helps the student learn

eye contact

I think that eye contact with each student shows confident in yourself as you float around the room geiving your lecture

enjoy

The fist day of scholl, is like the first impression of meeting someone.Have a good attitude ,open mind, and smile :)

Learning Styles

I try my best to incorporate at least three different learning styles each class period.

First Day Games

I like to play the game "One Truth, Two Falses" in order for students to get to know each other and for the instructor to get to know the students better.

Textbooks

I like to read through each activity in the textbook before deciding for certian on which ones I would like ot utilize in class.
