About me

Activity

I found this course very informative. Because Med Term requires intense memorization, it is important to provide all learners an opportunity for success. I have already incorporated in my classroom the use of word searches, crossword puzzles, and BINGO, and have had great success. I will try to use several of the activities that were introduced in this module. I find that these activities are good with a diverse group of adult learners, including the non-traditional student. These offer non-threatening opportunities to learn, provides interaction in the classroom, and boosts self-esteem. This makes it a win/win situation!!!

Discussion Comment

Lisa, I also agree that this is a good course with a lot of good ideas to make teaching medical terminology a little more exciting. I actually already use the word searches, BINGO, crossword puzzles, etc. in class now. They offer a welcomed change to the traditional lecture environment, while still offering a learning environment. I also find these games to be a good tool for the nontraditional learner because they are non-threatening activities.

I am so excited about these learning modules. I have gained so much insight on managing students and great ideas on how to help my nontraditional students. I look forward to using some of the ideas I have learned, and I look forward to utilizing more learning modules.
