Important Group Discussions

My team had some great discussions based upon the training.  We have someone brand new to education, all the way to someone who has almost twice the experience of myself.  We discussed things that are typical for newbies, like being concerned about how to answer questions and how that limits your listening skills, and it caused us all to look at where we are deficient.

Thank you!

Thank you for the course! I learned a lot and enjoyed taking the course!

Wonderful Course!

I really enjoyed taking this course! It gave me many ideas of how to handle common set backs from potential students. My favorite part was the reference to emotional intelligence. I believe that is such an important trait to have an admissions advisor. Thank you for this course, I have already started apply the knowledge I learned!

Balancing Compliance While Improving Admissions Performance - Can it be done?

If you're like a lot of schools/colleges out there, admissions performance metrics have taken a back seat to a hyper focus on compliance.  Just curious how your organization is improving typical admissions metrics and enrollment results while staying compliant?  Is it possible?

2012 Education Trends Through the Eyes of the Customer

Google released an insightful study entitled 2012 Education Trends through the Eyes of Your Customer.  This research study was based on their internal search data, Compete clickstream data and the results of a brand perceptions study with Ipsos OTX.  Among the findings, here are some highlights:

  • 80% of education search query paths end without a conversion.
  • 1 in 4 education researchers never even look outside the web.
  • 9 in 10 don't know which school they want to attend at the onset of the journey.
  • 2 out of every 3 researchers who use video do so to understand specific features of

What a good course to take for new ideas and upgrades to your admissions process.  I will be taking a lot of what I learned from this course and using it at the school.  Thank you!

Can Admissions Really Have an Impact on Retention?

I presented on a webinar yesterday comprised of 100's of those responsible for student retention.  When asked what role admissions played in retention, over 50% said that admissions should play a major role.  Nearly 60% of the same group believed admissions didn't have the actual training to do this in a meaningful way though. So it's tough to hold admissions accountable unless they are trained and have the proper resources.  What do you believe admission professionals need in order to truly impact student retention?

Very useful course

I have taken a Telephone Techniques class as part of my course work in college. This was an excellent supplement to that class. There were several tips that fit right in with what had been taught. Thank you.

Do we forget..

..that we were students once too?

And that what we take for granted is sometimes new and possibly overwhelming to students who may already have life challenges?

This was a nice refresher course. Because we use the phone so often, we often get stuck in ruts that are not always productive. This course gave me some tips on how to use the phone more effectively.

I enjoyed this course a lot. It was very easy to follow and gave me a lot of information and tools that I haven't used in a while. This course is a very good way to get back to the basics of admissions and learn some new things along the way.
