Integrating Career Readiness into Your Courses: Part I ->Teamwork/Collaboration

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

Teamwork is essential. Students need experiences in team building, leadership and team problem solving to be successful in the work place.

I learned that teamwork is more than just making sure we have great results, its about the team being involved and integrating new ideas into each other and allowing eachother to grow within the tema for all to be successful.

Students will talk to each other in a different way than a faculty member can.  Use this to your advantage.

Team work is about collaboration, creating a space for sharing ideas, and functioning as a unit. I believe encouraging team work for our students is an essential component for future growth. This will allow students to challenge their own morals and beliefs when it comes to a hard situation, and to not be afraid to ask for help.

Teaching students not to point fingers despite that being human nature

I'm excited to participate in team-building activities that foster collaboration, communication, and trust among team members. By engaging in these initiatives, I believe we can strengthen our working relationships, enhance our problem-solving skills, and ultimately provide better support to our patients and community. Let's work together to build a cohesive and high-performing team

Teamwork is crucial to accomplishing goals and getting acquainted. Allowing others who are strong where you are weak develops a rapport and a foundation for acceptance and trust.

I learned the importance of communication, teamwork, and critical thinking in problem-solving. I intend to apply these skills to collaborate effectively, build stronger relationships, and achieve success in academic and professional settings.

I learned that teamwork requires clear communication, trust, and respect for diverse perspectives. I plan to apply this by actively supporting my peers, sharing responsibilities, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.

I will ensure that roles are being changed between assignments so that people can be sure they are seeing all aspects of how to work in a team.

When addressing roles not being met by an employee, it is important to address the issues not the personality of the person. And since accountability is essential for all employees, leaders should also be accountable for their actions when they have not addressed or dealt with an employee properly.

Teamwork increases productivity.

Teamwork is key for career success and involves communication and respect. I plan to use group activities that promote listening and cooperation.  I liked the suggested square box blindfolded team building exercises idea.  I will definitely use that.

Effective team collaboration on a project not only leads to individual goal needs but helps with communication skills, team building skills for the workforce, and also how students can learn from eachother in the project/lesson at hand

Teamwork is of significant value in both personal gain and workplace success.

To me, team spirit means “working together to grow together.” When every team member understands that growth will be shared equally, they’re more willing to carry their fair share of the load. This mindset not only fosters collaboration but also drives the team toward success.

The work environment is the most popular place where we assume only team work exist. What Students fail to learn\realize in higher education is team work also exist in the class room.  There are many ages, demographics and stages of life persons who also need to get along in a group\educational setting.  As an Instructor, I got a "aha" moment of how important it is to lay the foundation of what "team work" really is even in the educational stage.  the students have the same goal to graduate and level-up in life.

This course has taught me how to prioritize my time in my classroom and find ways to communicate with my students. There is so little time to accomplish our lesson plan and get to meetings . But for this year, I will use what I learned so that my students are able to communicate with each other effectively
