Soft skills is what gets people hired. In this industry, most people have their own unique/specific technical approach that can be taught on the job or in-training. Having an open mind and a collaborative spirit is the prerequisite!
Based on my past experience as an AV Tech for a 3rd-party tech recruiter and negative past student interactions, I believe that soft skills are just as important, if not more so, than technical skills. If you don't have decent people skills or home training, you're DEAD in the water.
I learned more about soft skills and how they can benefit my students growth and development. I also came up with some ideas that I can implement in my classroom.
I have started to brainstorm how to implement teaching soft skills to dental hygiene students by doing a role-playing activity with their peers.
Discussing the best use of time management to the students to better navigate the course. Using blocks of time to review the previous class so the next lesson is easier to follow.
These skills are important to apply daily to every class consistently
Soft skills are a very important part of the modern workplace and need to be taught to students accordingly.
Fostering Placement Skills was an activity that I hadn't encountered in the classroom. This activity will be set up and initiated in the plan to enhance the successful development of both soft and hard skills in career-ready students, preparing them for whatever road they encounter after school.
This section reminded me of many skills that we often take for granted. It was a great refresher. I haven’t heard of Cornell-style notes before. I will incorporate this in the preparation for a job interview.
I have been refamiliarized with soft skills and how to use them in my class.
It is important to teach the students soft skills while at school. I am not sure our students are being taught this. Skills such a communications, adaptability ,conflict resolution and time management . Nursing requires lots of soft skills and some are innate and some like time management must be learned.
Soft skills are becoming in demand in the workplace. Communication , verbal and non verbal play a key role in the workplace. Team player and time management also are important for the workflow of the day.
Time management and comminucation are very important to fostering a good learning envirionment.
I feel time management is a key to profitability in my industry.

Time manangement is very important, in order to stay on task and complete required tasks assigned. In our industry of Food preparation and baking we rely heavily on time manangement. If tasks are not complete on time, our customers(students as well) suffer greatly.
