Instructors need to be aware of the variety of student in their class and make the correct adjustments to the their needs. So necessary to know the students intrinsic reasons for being successful but Instructors need to know their bountries when interacting with student and often they can reach out to Ed Managers and Student Services for additional help so that this does not become overwhelming and take away from other students
What I learned from this course what how to be able to better assess a student depending on their situation. At the same time making sure each student is paired with another diversity and age range will allow all to also learn from another.
Very interesting module. I have had tons of experience teaching people of different ages and backgrounds in the military and Capella University. Therefore, I am equipped with what it takes to deal with a vast array of different people. However, I did learn a lot from this module. It has expanded my view on learners and their needs.

Students are in the classroom for a variety of reasons and have a variety of skill brought to the classroom, along with a variety of fears. We as instructors must work within these confines and be encouraging, but overall we are there to teach the content and help them learn.

Students will not return to class if they feel like school has become a chore, it is important to build a relationship to keep them coming back to campus.
It is important to understand students to meet them where they are at as they all come from different places in their life.
This has helped me get into the heads of my students, many of whom are even older than me, and who are especially removed from what I teach (mathematics). Without understanding their goals and motivations, it's very hard to get through to them.
