Activity

I learned that adult learners like a structured outline of what they will be learning.

I learned to make sure you focus on the students needs before you begin advising.

In this module I learned different listening techniques, and not to be combative when I am actively listening.

Students are our customers that you want to spread the word about the product (education) they received.

I learned that our adult learners have life outside of school, so we have to be stern on attendance but also empathic enough to know that things happen.

We should also suggest students try to remove any obstacles that would hinder them from the course they started.

I learned how Intrinsic motivators will help with my class

This module taught me new ways to give confidence or security to students.

I never thought that students needed educational security, but now I know that it is needed to make all students feel safe to possibly give a wrong answer in class that can be corrected.

In this module I learned that you should be motivational at all points of class.

I once heard another instructor say years ago "IF YOU CAN REACH THEM, YOU CAN TEACH THEM"

This has been true to each school I have had the opportunity to teach at.

I previously worked in a High school setting and using the 3x5 cards has helped me in the past with the disruptive students.

This is something I will use now as well.

I learned that as long as you are being professional, it is okay to have fun in class.

I will try to look for the unknown holidays like "Bring your ballpoint pen day" and implement these into my class.
