Implementing "safety first" and  adhering to OSHA guide lines is important in a lab/shop environment.

Comment on Jacquelyne Clark's post: The Modules are helpful in aspect of safety, protocol, social accountabilities to the environment as well

From this module, I’ve learned that maintaining safety and organization in lab environments is foundational to both learning and professional practice. Every lab—whether clinical, computer-based, or simulation—has its own set of hazards and protocols, and it’s the instructor’s responsibility to ensure students understand and consistently follow them. I also learned that safety goes beyond equipment and procedures; it includes fostering a culture of accountability, situational awareness, and respect for others in the learning space

Safety is a priority.

As an instructor, I am responsible for the safety of my students when they are under my supervision.

ppe is a big part of what we teach we preach safety we cover the hole guideline

This course is a reminder of how important safety is .

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a federal agency of the United States that creates guidelines for a safe and healthy work environment.

Safety First!!

I appreciated the detail list of universal guidelines.  Someimes we think we know them all or are following them all and it was a great reminder.

The course has reinforced how important safety is.

I learned that orientation to lab work and clear guidelines enable a higher degree of safety in the lab.

I like using pre-lab quizzes to help students prepare for lab classes.

It is important to start with safety and confirm that the safety instructions are understood. Safety in the lab should align with that of the industry that the students will be working. The first thing that I will do is discuss the alarms and exits, even when not in the lab there should be a safety element in lectures.

Be diligent with safety concerns and enforcement of safety rules, such as wearing safety goggles when needed.

Be sure to always promote safety weather you are in or out of your classroom.

It is good to be reminded about duty of care and the papertrail supporting the instructors efforts to insure the student applies safety procedures.

It is imperative that students receive safety instructions as the start of a lab course. Safety needs to be enforced and verbal reminders given often.
