Motivating an individual or group is a key feature of an effective leader, but the actual methods employed can vary widely from personalized to general. Know your audience, consider your relationship to them. Individuals tend to respond well to environments that provide constancy in expectations, recognition of their efforts, and provide a them with a "voice at the table". They like to be seen, valued, and feel like their efforts have an impact.

Thank you for sharing, Francisco! You’ve made some great points. I especially agree that credibility as a leader is established by setting an example and understanding the situations your team faces. Leading by example creates trust and sets the standard for how we want our teams to behave and perform.

It’s also key to remember that empathy and understanding employee issues is a powerful way to connect and support them in a meaningful way, which fosters loyalty and boosts morale.

It's important to create an open environment for our teams to allow them express their opinions and engage the when we build a vision

Listening and recognition are key to motivate our teams

Learning different tools to use in my tool box while continuing to strive to increased and successful leadership skills.   Identifying and applying depending on many different situations. Motivating and leading is different with each individual. 

Consistency in selling the vision to team members is crucial, as is being a good listener.

A leader will share their knowledge, encourage staff, and maintain short-term goals.

Knowing our weaknesses is a great step to developing into a better leader!

Be open to listening. Prepare an agenda ahead of time. Actively provide support to other team members. Celebrate - often and allow everyone to share their experiences! 

Leadership and motivated employees are important to an organization. Being able to use various styles of leadership helps in dealing with different types of scenarios. Great training overall!

Connecting with your audience on multiple levels is crucial for their support. Establishing a connection is crucial to earn their trust.

Many of the concepts found in this module are ones that I currently teach in my Supervisory course for culinary students. It substantiates the fact that many times motivation and skills in managing people are similar and there is a concrete set of philosophies that when implemented are quite effective.

I have learned that there may be issues that arise amongst staff and a good leader listens to the issues, be empathetic and address these issues on how everyone learns best

Never stop communicating

Keeping your team informed about goals and maintaining a collaborative environment keep your team motivated and focused.  

It’s always important in leadership to make sure everyone is heard and respected.

The more the team can be unified and trusted, the easier it will be to achieve goals.

Leadership comes in many different forms, and thus we are always striving to learn more. This lesson effectively conveyed that knowledge. 

Leadership takes good listening skills and a strong sense of who you are and what you bring to the table. Take care of others and lead with boldness and humility. 

Sometimes, I have found getting everyone on board with any ideas is hard. However, I have found that using my leadership skills helps with getting everyone on the same page.
