That putting "References Available Upon Request" is no longer done and having a list already prepared to give when asked is necessary.

I like the idea of "googling yourself" and was shocked at the 50% of available jobs are a hidden job market! 

I have learned that the Career Service Center is an essential part of the school.  From Admissions to students to graduates and employers.  The mission statement should help to show how the Career Service Center can be an integral part from start to finish and beyond.

Stop, breathe, reflect and decide on  a direction.  Most useful to help with anxiety and stress...   

 

How to motivate and be more open and transparent.  To talk less and listen more to have the team be more involved.

I really enjoyed this section - reinforced what I have been thinking and teaching as a Professional Development instructor.

I like all the advice for following through on the interview - many students do not have questions - but I love the question "What's our next step?" question... This is what I am going to share!!

 

The presentation is almost like a "good book".  With a beginning, middle and quesntion and answer at the end to tie everything together.  All hopefully to have a solution or knowlegde gained from it.

I plan on utilizing the information offered by having student participate in critical thinking and creativity writing projects.  Assessing their writing assignment and offering some positive critiques to help them retain information better.
