Transfering credits

Although we would love to serve our students in every way possible as to make their path to success a more efficient one; we as admissions representatives can never mislead of offer certainty when it comes to transferring credits to or from our institution. An unofficial copy of credits will assist in the evaluation of what may or may not transfer but having the student take the adequate steps to ordering an official copy sent directly to our school is what is required in order to satisfy the requirement of an official transcript.

What is offered at your school?

Product knowledge combined with great customer service will only make you a more efficient Admissions Rep. Researching as much as you can about all the different programs that your school offers by talking with the program directors, will give you a strong foundation. This foundation is what your prospective student will grasp on when you are delivering your information session. Being knowledgeable and knowing how to deliver the information will help create a great bond between you and the prospective student.

School Catalog

The school catalog is an important part of the admissions process. It empowers the student by giving them full disclosures of all that they need to know about the school and their specific program.

Terms and definitions

It is essential that admissions representatives give clear definition to the often used terms in our environment which are not commonly used by our prospective students.

Is it best to hire both an Admissions Director and a Recruiter?

Transfer of Credits

I work with graduate programs exclusively and receive transfer credit questions frequently. Because our program is a lock-step program, in general we do not accept transfer credits. How do you deal with students who were told their credits would transfer and are now upset with you because they don't.

Receiving Paperwork Back on Time

Sometimes after the initial interview the prospective student will linger on bringing back important paperwork. What is a great motivator to help them bring all the documents in a timely fashion?

Students demanding discounts

I read in the previous module that we are not to offer discount and random reduction. But as representatives how do we keep the student interested while they are used to being offered discounts by other institutions?
