Observation and manipulation

Clinical classes students seems to do better than any anatomy and physiology classes. Once you write on the board instruction, yes you are right steps should be in lots of steps. Students follow them easily

Professionalism

It is very important for teachers to be dress well. Students admire their teacher the way he/she look. For example I teach clinical classes and on first day class, we hand over students lab rule regulation, one of the clause in list indicates students hair should be tied back and they must have lab coat all the time. If teacher is not having a lab coat on, we cannot enforce student to follow lab regulations.

Planning and prepartion for class

Yes we do provide students on first day of the class Syllabus, class rule regulations check list and course outline.Deadline of projects and module start date and ending date of class. I actually give my students day of four exams already. I don't know if I am doing right thing to give students in advance days of exams.

Professionalism

I feel that this is one of the most important pieces of teaching. Professionalism has many aspects. Attire, behavior, voice, and concern for the students. As long as you stay professional and consistent in all situations, your class should run smoothly.

Reiforcement/Praise

Reiforcement of a students work is something I have always tried to be consious of. Students are "proud" of theri accomplishements and us a s teachers shoyuld try to recognize when a student is felling that way. Yes, there is such a thing as over-doing the reinforcement/praise technique, I have seen other teachers do it, I also try to stay consious of this as i have found myself doing that.

Organizational Tools

Organizational tools are crucial to the success of a restaurant. If a chef cant stay organized, how do we make money? Whether through use of notebooks, haccp plans or even a notebook with preferred vendors, we must organize ourselves to remain profitable.

Clear Expectations

"A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link." Chef Instructors are leaders in the kitchen. We must lead by example and set clear and concise goals for our students. Expectations should be set high and we should adhere to set expextations to achieve success

Planning

As a Chef, planning is one of the most important aspects of our business. To succeed, chefs must be able to multi-task organization-wide using all of the resources provided.

My instructional philosophy

My instructional philosophy incorporates my past career experience and my past educational background. Which in my opinion peaks interest in students beacuse I am a LCB graduate who has achieved success in the culinary field.

Keeping students involved in class

I sometimes have a problem keeping our medical terminology students on task

Course Expectations

We go over course expectations all the time and the students like to be remined of what they are.

Using the course syllabus and course outline

If I didn't make the syllabus and course outline so important in my class the students would be lost, because we refer back to it quite often.

How students react the first day of class

It is really strange to me how students react the first day of class even though they have already had you for class before.
