Great concept in theory. 

I really liked the notion of active learning. Best of all, in the 5 hour classes of my school, it helps the teacher save and spend energy effectively, and more important than that does not overburn the students in 5 hours of the class. It lets them enjoy learning, actively. I will use this methos for sure.

Occassionally we have challenges to the classes here. When running two classes on the same session one class is forced into the classroom while the other is in the lab and that can be challenging for when students are using a hands on type of environment are then restricted to discussions this allows the student to become disconnected and left with a lack of motivation to work on their labs when they're finally allowed into the lab environment.  Allowing students another outlet as in going outside to perform a task weather permitting.

Good review on what can and should be done

Flipping is a very interesting concept, however the students do expect everything to be addressed in the classroom. The students do complain that teachers do not teach when they are required to do any extra reading/work. in other words they expect "spoon feeding:

I teach mental healthnursing and often I have my students act out different scenes to help develop plans of care. The students love during this and they can become creative with ides to help come up with solutions

I was able to learn from this course. How to increase student motivation. I am looking forward to implementing this practices into my class room.

Lots of good info in this module. I've tried to effectively use questioning, but this will help a lot. I plan to write down in advance both closed/open questions to use and where in the lesson to use them. One thing I need to work on is redirecting, especially for answers that are off the mark.

One thing about higher education is that we the instructors have academic freedom. However, most of the instructors are not aware of how their role within the classroom aids to the complete growth and development of the adult learner. The students who sit in our classrooms are most often not the traditional age student. Therefore, we have students that are a little more mature and assured as to what it is that they want to do with their degree once they receive it. I do presently facilitate more than actually instruct.  As a technology teacher I am accustomed to students using technology more. However, students are not in a strong practice to review preexisting videos prior to class. And this does show in the classroom.

This is a very helpful tool that I will try to implement in the future. Great course

To improve on my listening skills espically in the area of what is not being said.

This course has so many helpful suggestions.  I would like to implement as much as posssible to increase learning outcomes for my students.

I learned a great deal about how to enhance student learning.  Some of the things covered I already do, which made me feel good about my teaching techniques.  Others, I will implement immediately to help students who might otherwise get lost in the shuffle.

Applicaiton based activities help encourage participation.

Effective way to questio students and develop critical thinker would be open ended questioning.  I plan to ask more open ended questions by putting the questions in my leeons plans so that I will ask themand have the answers prepared.  Ask more students questions and allow wait  time.

I learned the importance of greeting each student at the beginning of each course to help them feel they are appreciated.  I also learned the importance of getting to know each student at the first class.  The importance of learning each student's name during this first class and identifying them by name at each subsequent class was also stressed.  I learned the importance of proper organization prior to the first class meeting.

Great course. I look forward to seeing where I can flip my classes.
