Soft Skills are an important component to what we provide Intellitec students.  We want to make sure that they have the ability to be professional by showing up on time, communicating effectively, and working well with others. 

Once you have assessed your audience, use your own experiences to make information interesting and applicable in order to hold their attention which will increase their efforts.

Unfortunatley in a for profit environment, one has to treat students like a customer.

I find it very interesting having many minds that learn on many different levels.  Thought of the day Lecture 20 students how many of them did you instruct with one or two words? Any who have a great Day. Positive reflection. Equals? 

As a brand new instructor, this course gave me great ideas as to how to prepare for lecturing and actually lecturing.  I am now, evven more excited to start lecturing than I was before.

Unfortunately, I teach for a school who has all preformatted exams. More often than not I am curtailing my lecture to the exam.

I enjoyed this course as I was already wondering about how to implement online "lectures" so that students could learn and review the material on their own for my math class.  Working face to face with students actually pushing their pencil on paper has long been the best use of my time so transitioning to more student centered classroom work while facilitating their learning was really interesting.  I was also releived to know that it can and probably should be a gradual process that evolves over time.  I will be looking for more information on best practices and appropriate online… >>>

I will engage interact and use evidence based approaches when teaching

I have always found it best to post an essential question or two on the board which tie into what my lesson will be. In this manner I can bring focus back to our classroom. Over the four hour class these questions will change.

I currently use a Learning Styles tool in my classroom, but my tests are not necessarily designed towards all styles. I will be re-evaluating my assessments to engage all students. 

i have learned that as instructor there are varies ways to improve your classroom. the different approach inn delivery as well as planning specific action plans and chanllenges for the students.

I will review my syllabus and make sure that I implement the changes so i am more prepared. Continue to change my styles of lecturing so that i meet the various learners.

I had alot of information that I can use to take key into teaching my students, esp being a new teacher I can reflect on my intro information: it had alot of key points to help give me the boost I need. My action plan is to definetly be prepared for class make sure everything is laid out I have an outline guide to start that will be class flow much better.

This course helped me to remember a few things and also taught me new things to take into consideration when teaching my students
