Adaptive Learning

I found a version 2.0 of the Tyton Partners "Learning to Adapt" research report. It's a free PDF download, and can be found by searching for the aforementioned, as well as the sub-title "The Evolution of Adaptive Learning in Higher Education."

Managing the Class & Students action plans

My Managing the Class & Students action plans include personal contact with the students on their individual situations, This includes middle-of-term advising, develpment of personalized learning plans, and escalation of student absenteeism / late assignment consequences - before it becomes too late for the student.

Improving Speech Communication Course

This course offers excellent information and recommendations that focus on challenges I faced last semester teaching a Speech Communication course. I intend to adapt my syllabus, Canvas modules, classroom instruction and grading methods to reflect what I learned.

Teaching speech requires a great deal of student presentation performance development. While students' knowledge of communication theory and the history of rhetoric best practices are essential, students improve their verbal and nonverbal skills through practice. Maintaining motivation, while students engage in group discussions, research, outlining and delivery, is especially critical in Speech Communication courses.

Sharing

I plan to talk with my students to find out how they learn and express to them that they may not like all of the material but it is vital to the learning process

Clinical Rotations

The students learning the three domains of education is viable towards their medical education in dealing with all types of patients.

Assessment

Since everything in here is so flexible depending on the students actions, there are many concepts that may be touched upon in a simulation scenario. I will begin using instructor notes to cover details of those concepts/topics that may come up. Also for time management, I will begin inserting the amount of time alloted for each portion of my simulation scenarios, in my lesson plan.

Teaching with personalization in mind....

My favorite takjeaway from the adaptive learning module was that teachers can approach their lessons with the aim of customzing. This can get the creative juices flowing and allows us to cater to stduents who often have a mix of needs as they learn. Also, if adaptive learning helsp the stduents to gain a depper graps of material (by being more engaged and by pacing their progress so they learn with less anxiety to know material by rote) well then society is better as a whole because edcuated indiviudals make society a better and richer place. Don't you agree?

1000 points

The point systems is a hard topic to understand.  But I see the benefit in helping the students dedicate time to studying for the points.

Electrical theory

diffucult subject, combining technologies, hand drawn diagrams and color seems to help

memorable handouts

Using colored paper allows the students to organize their handouts.

Strategies

Ask students about their lives and they will respond more positively toward you

Action Plan

Do my assessment earlier

Soft Skills

Teaching thesefundamentals is important in todays world, they are becoming fogotten traits

Keeping it interesting

Im not sure if this a proper share, i just think the most dificult part is to keep it interesting for the learners.

Id appreciate suggestions =)

Relate to your students

I try to share my background and experiences with my students so they can learn from and appreciate them.

Technology

I have found that using more technolgy for my class has helped the students collect a wider variety of information about the course than the class time limit could ever provide.

Success

How to be succesful in the classroom

Taking the test

Paying attention, there may be more than one anwser

Enthusiasm to make a difference

I am excited to share new found knowledge. I am the type that cannot contain myself when I know it will benefit others in reaching their goals. I believe in being selfless and preferring others by being open minded and understanding that the presentation that I will deliver will indeed help them and not harm them in anyway but encourage them to strive for excellence is my main objective.

Colored Paper

The instructor for my college program who runs the same classes I do used to use colored paper all the time. We used to think it was so funny but now I see why she did it. It is so much easier to refer to the yellow handout than by the heading of the paper, even if the headings are VERY clear and easy to read.
