This section 504 act was new to me. I learned through this training that disability is a serious matter which requires attention to detect the symptoms that disabled individuals display so that we can assist them appropriately. I have noticed many symptoms related to what this training discussed which prior to this training, I did not understand, and now I have a better understanding. 

Understanding the importance of students with disabilities seeking accommodations can impact their ability to learn and assist with the accomplishment of their success.

This gives a better description of differences set forth between 504 and ADA laws. It also helps differentiate the difference between K-12 "disabilities" and higher education requirements. Working with accommodations for higher education, students are limited by the students ability to perform with the availability of those accommodations.

It is always useful to remind yourself as instructor the idea around "reasonable" accommodations and case-to-case approach.

I learned that communication training and behavioral therapy can assist someone with Asperger's syndrome to be successful.

Service animals are protected under the ADA but emotional support animals are not.
