This module taught me how with very simple resourses you can motivate students. It was particularly interesting regarding the classes and the evaluations. I think motivating them helps them become interested in their own learning and development, instead of rejecting activities or, what is very common today, turning to Artificial Intelligence to answer them.

I have always used the "There are several options for assignments". I tell the students that if they are passionate about what they are writing about, then it will come across in the paper. As long as it is school appropriate...

Its a good idea to get students thoughts and suggestions on the topic or course, because it helps keep them motivated and shows the instructor what things can be improved or worked on to help students

Create a more positive environment by allowing adult learners to share past experiences

This course helped me to remember how important is to provide positive feedback and allow my students to take control of their learning process by encouraging them and providing a secure learning environment with security and autonomy.

encourage students to ask questions and be involved

Adult learners want to feel respected by their experiences as it may connect with their new learning. As a teacher you should always be supportive and make them feel comfortable and safe.

When students are confident in their ability to succeed at an assignment, they are more likely to have motivation to participate.

Security and Motivation are important features in maintaining student retention.

Students feel more secure and confident when the instructor motivates them. Giving positive feedback and encouragement helps students to excel in their learning.

I feel more confident in conducting my classes

If a student is struggling to answer a question, help them out.  Never embarrass a student.  Even if the answer isn't quite right, find a positive in their contribution to the discussion.

To make sure I'm prepared and to explain things clearly and always be supportive.  Also look for signs that the Student may be disconnected to the class.

Always making sure your students needs are met and that they feel secure.

The classroom is their security.  Allow the students to ask questions and support them.

Adult students sometimes need more motivational encouragement than younger Adults due to life experiences.

Securing a safe and accepting environment allows the Adult student be open about their studies.

Autonomy is built within all students to be able to do it their way, but this is the reason they are in school to be educated or trained to do it properly.

Security and autonomy relate strongly to motivation. Supportiveness enhances both.

Be  supportive and communicate properly.

I’ve learned that security is the students ability to perform tasks and autonomy is the student’s beliefs about the amount of control they have over the learning process.

always supply positive feedback
