I enjoy that an instructor can use creativity in order to make the class environment safe and interesting
Finding creative ways to teach a lesson or class can cause a dramatic increase in student motivation and retention of the material. I think that also keeps it interesting for the teacher.
I learned that great instructors do more than teach content. They motivate students, build confidence, and encourage them to push beyond their limits. I will apply this lesson by using real world experiences, and helping the students believe in their capabilities.
Being engaging is key to student success. Bookending information in a unique way keeps students interested from lesson to lesson. Finally, though we want to be friendly and make our students feel welcome, it is important to model professional behaviors.
Being engaged in your class is the most important thing you can do. Showing up with a positive attitude and just a little bit of excitement in the thing you've delivered 10,000 times makes the biggest difference.
Staying professional at all times, and fotering an environment where students are confident with their ability to perform the skills they are being taught.
I appreciated the review of how important it is to think creatively and teach creatively. This will keep the students engaged and increase their critical thinking skills.
Establish a connection with your students early on. They really don't care how much you know till they know how much.
Use the techniques that build interest and develop student success. Be creative, passionate, and a little mysterious to keep them interested. Know when to change things and try new teaching methods.
To be a real person and be professional. Occasionally think outside the box. Be a part of the team.
Creativity, Intuition, Structure and understanding in the classroom. Letting students be creative and keeping them engaged in how learning can be light and fun at the same time.
Most of my professional reviews over the years have included an observation that I "entertain as well as inform." I spent many years teaching middle school, which can consist of a notoriously tough crowd, but I tried to make my class a place that each student would look forward to attending. When students were absent for one reason or another, they were always worried that they were missing something fun and interesting. By and large, this eliminated many of the problems that typically difficult students brought to other classes.
An excellent instructor will always make the classroom one that is full of love and belonging. Students are esteemed and respected, loved and cared for. The instructor must show empathy and embrace the weakness of the students
Use a tactic at the beginning of the lessen specifically to gain the learner's attention. Allow time for students to solve a problem.
I learned that being there for a student (professional) can help them do better. Showing the student that you care helps them more ways then one.
Integrity and respect are critical, for the materials, the students, the institution and the subject being taught.
Being an outstanding instructor means staying professional while genuinely caring for your students. It’s about guiding them to think independently, encouraging curiosity, and creating a safe space to explore ideas. Adaptability, creativity, and attentiveness make learning meaningful and memorable
I must never cross the personal and professional boundary line and I must also ensure that the students know I won't give up on them.
Great teaching is more than delivering content—it’s about tuning into your students, asking purposeful questions, and guiding them to think for themselves. When instructors trust their instincts, stay adaptable, and really pay attention to what students need in the moment, they create a learning environment where curiosity thrives.
