My favorite portion of this topic was reminiscing about the "wax on wax off" scene from The Karate Kid and how I could apply it to the classroom more often. Many times, students would just see the task but not know what the purpose is. Every other term, much like Mr. Miyagi, I make sure to connect what we are learning with the goal in mind because it's sometimes hazy for new artists that don't know the full pipeline to see that what we are doing is for a bigger picture than they first imagined.
