How has knowing the difference between, a counselor and an agent helpped you?

It is extremely important that enrollment requirements, policies, tuition and fees, and refund policies are clearly presented to the student. This is the first stage of helping the student get involved in the education process. If a student has a clear understanding of what they are entering into and the process, they will feel more confident and involved in the school. Vaguely discussing, or skimming over these important items can lead to confusion and stress in a student, which will ultimately effect retention and student success. What other benefits do you think can come from increasing student understanding in these areas?

There is so much great information in this forum. What do you believe are the best qualities an admissions representative should have? Do you feel that marketing strategies should be made primarily from the employees who work at the school?

I learned a lot of important information in the section 3. Do you feel there should be more restrictions on the marketing plans for schools in Ohio?

I thought that this chapter was very helpful to my training. I think it is so important for students to have a very knowledgable admissions representative to give them the information they need. Is there any other information that you believe should be included in the interview process that is not yet in the Ohio Board?

My main questions as a new rep for a career college are what are some of the main fears that prospective students have and how can I connect on a personal level with this demographic of students. Any comments or tips are greatly appreciated!

I feel that Compliance is extremely vital to follow so that students get a good understanding of processes and what is expected of them as a student. However, I also feel that Integrity is more important than compliance. I believe this because if you truly care for and believe in the student you are going to give them all accurate information and not tell them that the graduation to employment rate is over 95% if you are not sure. In addition if you are truthful with the students, don't bad talk other institutions and give the student the info they need to make an informed choice on the college that is right for them you will be following all compliance and guidelines. to conclude even if a college employee is technically in compliance with a statement that statement can be twisted or misleading to the student if integrity and ethics are not there. Thoughts?

An agent's familiarity with the school's policies and procedures is key to his/her understanding of how to handle everything properly for the benefit of the student. It provides a strong foundation for communicating accurate information to the student.

I have met several students who have paid alot of money to receive their diploma. These students really believed that they were receiving a real / valid diploma.Unfortunately, these operations or fake institutions prey on individuals that would just like to make a better life for themselves and family. Who does that! Shame on them!!

Because the Ohio Massage License requires a background check as do many programs that schools enroll, this should be disclosed regardless becaue that student will have to pay back the loans and it will be very difficult with no career/job.Because of this and these types of situations, student default rates will continue to be at risk..

Although an outside agency can assist the college to increase their enrollments with this type of marketing,a licensed recruiter will not only provide correct information to the prospective student but, they can have the student meet with the appropriate Academic chair assisting the student with a better program match. An outside agency must make sure that their infromation is not misleading.

Prospective students need correct and truthful information to be successful. We use an Action plan here at BMC that gives the student what the next step will be during the process and what they need to complete. Often times, the Action plan includes tasks outside the enrollment process that the student must overcome in order to start school. This insures that when they do start school, they will complete their education, graduate and begin a new career.

I have a notebook for my prospective school but do I need to have a specific one for Ohio?

What section covers information on how long documents must be retained?

As a new hire I find the information section on creating a Resource Notebook to be brilliant. I can already tell this will be one of the most useful tools for me.

when u advertise u should include all rules and regulations so it will be there for your convience

you cant pass out flyers about your school but what if u put the same infomation required as a billboard advertisement
