Keeping Your Resource Notebook Up to Date

There are a few ways to use your notebook and keep it up to date. You can wait for your supervisor to give you information. You can also seek out the information from the other staff members. You can ask questions. You must do whatever it takes to be sure you have the most current information plus the forms that you need to complete the admissions process.

Transfer Credit Policies

Institutions may vary in transfer policies regarding the amount of credit an applicant can transfer. For example, students may be asked to provide transcripts of course credits they wish to transfer.

Educational Programs

Your institution may offer a variety of programs that include combinations of diplomas and degrees or occupational training. It is important to be knowledgeable of each of the program and what they have to offer to students interested in the particualr career path.

Physical Facilities

The physical facilities that the instituion has available to students must be clearly described for complaince purposes.

Agents

Agents are able to meet with propective students in their own home or at public events such as college fairs or other informational meetings.

Staying up to date and Compliant

Staying up to date and compliant is a very important part of a recruiters position. Informing potential and current students on an institutes policys and procedures is a very important part of our duty to the student, so the most important portion is to assure that the information being provided is up-to-date and accurate.

The Job Market

The economy has not been steady for several years. Schools cannot make any promises to students about jobs or salary

Student Services no matter the size of the school

The college I work for is not huge, however, we have the best individual working at Student Services. She does so many little things for the students. Always has their wellbeing in mind. It is an important job.

Admission Process

The Admission Process is a very important one and must be completed perfectly. Using a checklist will work best for me as I am very organized. Also, as Admission staff, we are the Director's of First Impression for the prospective student. Smile, do the best you can do and make it a positive experience, unforgettable.

Regulatory Compliance

Regulatory Compliance is important in any job that we perform throughout our lives. I had never worked as an admission's representative in Education, but always as one in Healthcare. There are strict regulatory compliance guidelines which must be followed regardless of your job title. We must take these guidelines seriously to perform the job satisfactorily. How do you all feel about compliance at work?

Agent vs Admissions Representative

So by taking this course, as I am the admission representative, I am also approved as an agent? Our school only has 1 title: Admissions Representative, but I am expected to do what is defined under the term agent and admission representative.

Meetings and keeping up to date

Company meetings are a great way to stay up to date on all the information about your institution. As well as get feedback from the employees on how the current policies are being upheld.

Alumni Association

I believe that it is good to be able to have former students speak to prospective ones. They would be able to give some insight and pointers to them.

fines for institutions

I agree that the institutions should be fined if they 'break the rules' however, these fines arent as hefty as they should be. There are a lot of sketchy places out there still and I believe that if the fines were higher, there would be less to worry about.

resource notebook

I do not see the need for a printed notebook when paper is outdated as soon as it is printed. How I would solve this problem would be to download all of the proper documentation onto a thumbdrive that everyone has. Then, everyone would need to turn it in once a month to get it updated with the latest versions. This eliminates the possibility for the information to get outdated as well as it eliminates the need to destroy trees to print the documents.

Job Market

Knowing the job market and how it flucuates can help with admissions. Employers in their specific jobs can give you insight and help you better understand the position that the student might be in. Understanding the jobs that the student has the potential to go in allows a better understanding of the classes, and when they ask why do I have to take this class, you could respond by saying how it is training you and developing you for your future career, that a variety of different classes will help them.

What is the best way to access or see the marketing materials that are used and distributed by the school?

The outline did not specify what exactly a formal relationship with the student is? The catalog is the first stage but I was confused by this term as it was not discuss previous to the quiz. Can you elaborate?
