For fun and exciting stress releif I found that something as simple as the Wii Fit is a good stress releiver

many people tend to take their work home with them in a mental way. It is best that when you enter your home that their is a seperation between work and personal life.

Getting the students to buy into the subject

By telling the students how they will use the information they will learn in the class the student will have a purpose for learning the material. The student will know how this information will help them earn more money in order to give their families a better way of life. By giving purpose for learning the student will respond.

cleaning list

A typed cleaning list is a good way to keep kitchns/classrooms clean. It also teaches delegation

time of preparation vs. time of delivery

In this module one of the comments addressed how you might spend time preparing every detail of a lecture and it not working out anywhere near the time you plan. I think it mentioned that you might plan something to last 20 minutes and in delivery, it takes five. I often find the exact opposite happening. I plan for those 15-20 minutes of lecture in order to give out information and it turns into 30-40 minutes of actual class time. Sometimes students have questions or engage in discussion and other times I just take much longer than planned. I do not know that this is always a bad thing but that part of the module stuck with me, as it is the opposite of what I experience.

Being professional and consistent in the classroom...

I truely believe that these two things are very important when managing your classroom. It means hardwork in inevitable.

Time Management

Prioritize with a blackberry schedule reminder. It is qiuck and easy to do.

Cheating Students...

This area was very interesting to me. It has been very hard for me to understand the rationale behind adult cheaters but now I understand that with cheaters, cheating has been an ongoing thing throughout their lives and it is not something they have just started. So the instructor is not there to change the bahavior but to show them that the rationale behind it is not worthy of the action.

Very Helpful !!!!

I find that this area is somewhat difficult for me at times. This section really assisted me with the ideas given and the thoughts and rationale behind them. I will begin to implement this new information in my classes immediately.:)

Having respect for your adult students as adults and individuals

I believe that getting to know your students from the beginning of the class is very immportant. I give each student a survey that asks questions about how they learn and how they like to learn. After going over all of them I present to the class my findings and explain how the class will be structured. I believe that this creates an atomosphere that is more individualized to the class itself (each semester).

Cheating Students

When I know a student just cheated on a test, when the other students go on a break I call that student to my desk and talk to them about their study habits. I tell them I think they can do better if they find more time to study, then I have them take the test again

Managing a class

This makes sure you get what needs to be done completed.

Angry behavior

Sometimes one students behavior can change the whole classes behavior.

Give encouragement to students

Sometimes just saying good job can motivate the student.

Define your requirements&expectations

Make sure the student understands how to achieve a high grade, and what can lower thier grade.

Capturing a student attention

When there is a talkative student in my class, when I am giving a lecture or asking for class participation, I just walk over by that student and stand there for a few seconds; then I walk around the whole class so it did not look I intentionally pick that student out.

Stress

The things that I cannot control are the things that give me the most stress

Stress has allows you to focused on helping you to understand your unique strengths and weaknesses in the way you manage stress.
