Great Compliance Training!

I think the compliance training was very helpful. I'm actually new to Title IV schools and this training answered a lot of my questions. It helped me understand about the regulations and why they are important. I was a little nervous about taking the compliance training, but I learned a lot. I really enjoyed the training.

11 years

Even after 11 years of working in admissions, financial aid and student services I still learned a lot from this class. Nicely done

Compliance Training

This course was so informative in laying out the guidlines we all need to be cognizant of in our everyday interactivies with inquiries and students.  The format was clear and consise and the referrals to our respective state's compliance guidelines was also very helpful.  This course will ensure that all of us involved directly with inquiries and students will maintain current knowledge of the various compliance and disclosure guidelines we must always adhere to.

Very Informative

This course was very informative for me. The topics discussed can sometimes even relate to your personal life. A lot of the information I have learned before but it was great to have a refresher course with some new tidbits that I wasn't aware of!

Used a lot - but still learned something I didn't know.

Found the course very imformative, although somethings I had read several times to make sure I was understanding them.  DNC I have been aware of, but had never heard of "can spam".  So that was very informative, and I learned several other disclosures I was not aware of .  The Title IV information was very interesting also.

100%

When it comes to compliance, there is no room for error! Witht the new July 1st roll outs, the reps need to be atop their game, study their materials and prepare to be under a microscope of people waiting to jump at a mistake!

The True meaning of a "Good Admission Rep"

I believe a good admission representative should have several key components to be consider “Good” The must know the function of the position. I believe many admission rep may not totally understand the concept of his or title.  Their role is to recruit students to attend their institution, and this can be done person to person contact, telephone or over the internet. The representative may also attend events such as career fairs at local high schools to meet students who are considering higher educational institution. An admission rep must be familiar with the admission processes; such as find out… >>>

FInally, we get into the 21st Century

Most of the schools that take this course are online schools.  That means most provide education and training not in the traditional classroom setting but online.  As a rep, we often have to sit in a classroom and take hours away from our students to complete training.  We have the same issues most of our students have as well.  I took this assessment with about  10 other reps, I had to start about 30 minutes later than them but I was read faster than most, retain information well and know my job and the policies farely well so I was… >>>

Wrap up

Wonderful course! I really enjoyed the format. There is so much information out there with these regulations and interpreting legislation isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. It's nice to have everything laid out in a format that's easy to understand. I feel that I retained a lot of what is presented. While the golden rule can definitely serve as a back up, we all need to be familiar with the specific regulations. I am much more confident about my ability to work compliantly as a result of this course.

Training

I thought that this course was a great way to refresh me on the responsibilities of my job and updating me on current policies.

Handling Students that Want to Meet with Financial Services before Admissions

I have had students that have requested to meet with financial services before admissions to get a price of the programs without actually going through the GEP.  Normally it's pretty easy to take control and get these students on board with our process, but sometimes the student might be extremely persistent to the point of them getting angry.  I have seen with these types of students that a wall begins to go up with them and our refusal to do it "their way" only lends to their belief that "we might have shady practices".  I will generally tell a… >>>
