Providing good communication is key always make sure your employees understand what you are wanting them to do

Make sure you are actively listening to the speaker and not talking

Feedback

When you need to give feedback do it as soon as possible so its fresh and nothing gets made up or wrong thing has been said. Some people dont like getting positive feedback but mangers should still give it. People can get upset when receiving feedback but sometimes its needed so maybe they will fix their problem.

meetings

Alway prepare for your meetings have an agenda, open discussion and opinions dont recap for late comers do it at the end if they are interested dont drag the meeting out and dont let them leave confused or stressed make sure everyone knows there rolls in what they are supposed to be doing.

Feedback

I learned the hard way with my wife not to bring up old stuff from the past when giving feedback or having a discussion.

Non Verbal Communication

I've learned that nonverbal communicaiton is very important, from your facial expressions, the clothes you wear and even maintaining the simplicity of your pressentations is key to effective communication.

Dump And Run

The dump and run method is very common. I realize that its important to follow up on requests that are sent to staff. We need to close the loop! This will ensure that all tasks are taken care of and no one assumes the task was completed. This is best practice! What I have begun doing this year is sending follow up messages to my team when I hold a meetings to ensure that all information I covered, verbally, is also communicated in writing.

plan

I feel like its away nice to go in to anything with a plan rather go with nothing

Feedback

It isn't always good to take things for face value, but rather dissect the conversation at hand understanding the others perspective and asking questions when in doubt

media

While this area isn't used within my department, there is always a possibility in which it could be used. However, it was good insight in the event I ever were to get a pop-up media opportunity

listening

this section takes a dive into parts of me as an empathetic listener, and of course material is always more exciting when it relates to parts of you and how you relate

I appreciated this section to understand better when to call meetings and why meetings are called in my own unit

speaking

It is always best to know your audience and prepare making sure you keep the audience engaged to retain more information and knowledge
