You must use both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for students.

It is important to give others autonomy so they have some control over what they do. It will promote mastery and a desire to get better over time.

I believe that I have the energy and passion to motivate my students.  If they learn one topic, I have succeeded with them. Engaging the students and assisting as needed to help them with their success.

aside from having just a good attitude, i can relate with student's personal job experiences to help them to see the practicality in what were learning also let them share as well on how it relates.

i learned that i can find the streanths in each student and work on supporting that  so that they may build on it and creat better learniing experiences.

Great reminders!

I learn how to properly motivate students.

wHEN STUDENTS SEE THE "LIGHTBULB" GO ON, IT REALLY MOTIVATES THEM.  POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT IS ESPECIALLY HELPFUL

It is essential to promote autonomy in students by giving them a sense of ownership and encourage their desire to be better at what they do.

Motivating others with a passion for what you do dramatically influences their success. Do not just work for extrinsic rewards; focus on what you can continue doing to make a difference in others' lives, leading to their success.

I learned that sometimes the reward may become a hinderance because the individual learns to expect the reward versus value it.

What I have learned in this course is that motivation should come from within, and with that it can be lasting.  By relying on external motivation we may find that it will end up decreasing our enthusiasm

Being an educator  for more than 20  plus years ,I believe  the faculty  also need to be motivated in the area of his or her  discipline , and what they are teaching .If the students see you motivated   in the area you are (teaching )than they will be to motvivated and excited  to learn.

This course helped me learn about different ways to motivate others.  I really liked the autonomy, mastery, purpose information and will try to use that in my classroom.

It is essential to understand the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of students and faculty.

I have learned how to encourage others through extrinsic and intrinsic motivations. To use these skills to help motivate my students better and myself.

I have learned that to learn requires motivation and a feeling of autonomy.  Letting our students know the vision of the course or the subject matter and giving them assignments to reinforce the content while giving them autonomy to finish them.

I have learned that in the education field instrinsic motivation has to be present in order to get the job done with success. There are not many extrinsic motivators for teachers, so the internal has to be present. You have to love what you do and what you are teaching and hope your excitement will be contagious and carry over to the class. You have to find joy in seeing your students go into the real world and be successful and realize they are successful because of you. You were their first stop to success!

It was interesting to learn that driving intrinsic motivation is often overlooked by companies as a means of improving productivity and building teams.  I plan to remind my students about their achievements (showing them the pathway to mastery), thereby also giving them a sense of purpose and how their career will impact others.   Also, giving them choices and opportunities to have ownership over their education.
