I have learn that my students made need to be reminded of their purpose or their why over time.   There has to be more than just a good grade to motivate them although that might be good for some. 

I have been using different stules of teaching with my classroom with success.  

Soft skills can be lerned from scenarios done in classroom or even how the classroom is managed. 

Good ideas on keeping student in the course and how to deal with students working full time plus doing course. 

If you don't keep students engaged in discussions, you can loose them.  Discussions need to stay focus on topic.
