My take away from module 1.

  • Learning-objects databases are a valuable tool for course developers as they can save time by reusing materials.
  • Learning objects can be used to chunk course information and make it more manageable for learners.
  • Learning objects can be used as supplemental information or to provide remedial learning opportunities.
  • Learning objects can be accessed from various sources, including school or university technology departments, professional organizations, online venues, and textbooks with companion learning objects.

How I intend to apply what I've learnt.
In terms of applying this knowledge, I can start creating my own learning-objects databases or utilize existing ones to improve my course development process. By using learning objects, I can make my courses more engaging and interactive for students. Additionally, I can use learning objects to provide remedial learning opportunities and chunk information into manageable pieces, which can lead to better student learning outcomes.
