Be sure that any statement made about the school through social media (whether professional or personal) can be verified. The Admissions team must always be honest with respect to school and program outcomes, employment statistics and financial aid. They cannot complete the FAFSA for the student.
I feel like most of this is common sense and ethically aboveboard so it's nice to know that there is a proper way of engaging with prospective students.
This section taught me about the major importance of transparency in schools, understanding that, as a school, we are the one's that represent it, and thus must acknowledge how any false information given could greatly affect the schools image. One can apply such by simply being mindful of the knowledge that they give, especially for me I can ensure that the information I have given to my students is correct and not misleading at all.
How important it is to stay compliant and make sure the answers you give has been proven valid.
This training reminded me how important it is to always provide accurate, honest, and transparent information to our students and prospective students. Misrepresentation, even if unintentional, can impact students’ decisions and their trust in our institution. I learned the importance of making sure that all information I share about programs, outcomes, financial aid, and expectations aligns with official school materials and policies.
As a Program Director, I will continue to communicate with integrity, avoid making unsupported statements or assumptions, and ensure that students receive realistic and clear information. When I do not have an answer, I will make sure to seek the correct information from the appropriate source so that I can provide accurate guidance.
Accurate information is important when talking with students
Being honest and accurate with prospective students is critical. Sharing only factual information helps build trust and shows integrity, which can support students throughout their education. I plan to make sure what I share matches official school materials, avoid misleading claims, and always communicate professionally and transparently. Also, if I don't know something, to ask someone that does, in order to ensure that no information given is false.
It is important that we do not misrepresent what us right by the DOED through marketing and only give accurate information.
In reading this section, accuracy of representation is everything. One misunderstood conversation could be costly. When meeting with prospect students integrity and honesty wins.
Adopting ethical marketing practices that prioritize honesty over embellishment helps institutions build trust. This includes avoiding misleading claims in promotional materials, comments made by departments (enrollment, FA, and others), as well as what is on the website. It is appropriate to use data and cite where it came from if its a third party. It is why reviewing disclosures annually makes sure all departments can give accurate and relevant information rather then general statements that can get an institution in trouble.
Its important that information is accurate and follows what is posted about your school. Make sure not to talk about any specific competitors.
Transparency and representation are non-negotiables.
Transparency and representation is a serious matter. We should state facts and truths and not giving any false or misleading information. Above all, we should be professional in our dealings and transparent.
When we create transparency with a prospective student, it forms the basis of the bond of trust. That is what is needed to form that lasting bond with a student that results in retention and ultimately graduation and hopefully their aspirations realized. When a student feels that you will be honest with them - really honest.... they will, in turn be honest with you.
Transparency and accuracy of information always build trust with prospective clients/students. Thus, employees should be mindful of what they say all the time since they represent the school/institution.
Being honest with a transparency and accruate disclosure is the key of a success in any school system.
Being careful not to give information that is absolute or using superlatives is key to gaining trust with anyone.
Being mindful of the company we represent and the prospective employees or students who might become a part of this University.
Accurate representation of facts is critical when talking with a prospective student.
Always be transparent in what you say and how you represent the school, be prepared to back up statements with facts.
