What I've Learned
AI excels at heavy-lifting tasks like generating scenario variations, adjusting reading levels, and drafting initial lesson outlines. However, core pedagogical decisions—like reading student engagement, calibrating pacing, and applying real-world context—require human expertise.
How I'll Apply It
Use AI to quickly generate practice problem sets and differentiated materials.
Maintain direct control over cohort pacing, curriculum priorities, and final content reviews.

What specific prompt strategies have helped you get classroom-ready AI drafts on the first try?
This module taught me that AI can be a useful tool for lesson planning, but it should not replace my professional judgment as an instructor. AI can save time by helping create things like practice questions, vocabulary activities, different versions of assignments, and lesson templates. However, it is still my responsibility to make sure the information is accurate, current, appropriate for my students, and meets industry standards.
I plan to apply what I learned by starting with simple, low-risk planning tasks and using AI to help save time. I will review and adjust anything AI creates before using it with my students. As I become more comfortable with it, I can gradually use AI for more planning tasks while still using my own experience to make the final decisions.
AI when used correctly is an excellent tool. I used AI in the workplace all the time which saves me time. AI is not prefect and needs to be checked before actually using it.
In the education field, AI has been helpful to create repetitive activities such as reviewing concepts and definitions. However, it is still the experts responsibility to mediate the pedagogical experience.
Honestly in the dental field, I really don't think that i will use AI, but that's me personally. Other instructors may be able to use AI, but I personally feel like I want to be one on one with the student.
I have learned what AI is strong at. I intend to utilize AI for lesson planning brainstorming.
In order to successfully include AI in lesson planning, it is necessary to have a clear strategy. I find the idea of classifying between tasks that can be delegated to AI and those that require human expertise, insightful.
Readily do I admit, I am a researcher and avid reader, so I will be curious to see what generative AI shares. I look forward to the Team approach as I dialogue with AI; we will see where I end up. I am sure I will receive even more lessons and activities to try out in the Fall.

I have been using ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot to produce Algorithms and grafts, and to organize materials for nursing courses. This module is helping reinforce the proof content before using it to assess bias and accuracy.

One of the most valuable things I learned from this module is that different AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and Microsoft AI solutions, have unique strengths that can support the teaching and learning process. I also learned the importance of crafting effective prompts, as the quality of the questions we ask directly impacts the quality of the responses we receive.
I plan to apply this knowledge by using AI to assist with lesson planning, creating learning activities, generating assessment questions, and developing study guides that align with my course objectives. AI can help save time and provide new ideas, allowing me to focus more on student engagement and individualized instruction.
At the same time, this module reinforced that AI should be viewed as a support tool rather than a replacement for professional judgment. As an educator, I remain responsible for evaluating the accuracy, relevance, and appropriateness of the content generated. In this module, I learned that artificial intelligence can be a valuable tool for lesson planning and instructional design. However, I also learned that AI should not replace the teacher's professional judgment. Effective teaching still requires understanding students' needs, learning styles, and educational goals.
I believe that the greatest value of AI lies in its ability to support and enhance the work of educators rather than replace it. As a teacher, I plan to use AI to save time on routine tasks, explore new teaching strategies, and create more engaging learning experiences. At the same time, I will carefully review and adapt any AI-generated content to ensure it is accurate, relevant, and appropriate for my students. In this way, AI can become a powerful partner in promoting meaningful and effective learning.
I gained insight about what tasks AI is good at and how I can use the AI Content Quality Checklist to help me ensure the materials AI has generated are ready to present in the class.
