Teaching advanced students, I have learned that a lot of those students do not like group work. They find that some others just go along with the group, not do much, and then expect to get a "good" grade. That is why it is wise that their are individual assessments along with the group work activity.

Emerson's "Transparent Eyeball" comes to mind when I was reading through this module. To be one together and not as disparate as one may think it is.

Thoughtful way to present the power of non-verbal bits to deliver precise and successful ways to  reach all students; can be used as we interact with others in general. Great reminders!

In order to promote life learning and thus, life-long learners to be informed members of a civil society, the sooner scholars embrace the idea of facilitating and not suffocating their classes with too much content is important. To be a facilitator and not the "sage" evolves and comes with time spent in your craft known as teaching.

There is a lot shared in this module based upon the central idea that gamification can be a positive element in the classroom. As I teach higher level classes-I need to reserve my opinion until I learn more how it can be employed in my classes.

 Never really thought about the power of storytelling to further the ability of the students to form questions, feel safe to ask those questions, and move the learning in a non-linear way to the ever important of asking "why?"

As I recall, it can be very uncomfortable for the learner to hear a too personal story offered by the instructor. Sometimes, you cannot recover from it and lose focus on content. Not what we want at all in a successful classroom!

I appreciated the insight that was mentioned (science is storytelling). It may sound simplistic, but I never thought of it that way before; but it makes sense. Since teaching and learning is a social activity, what could strengthen that relationship more, but with storytelling as a significant part of those interactions.

We humans love to hear a story! I cannot think of teaching without sharing a "short" but effective narration on my part. I do remind myself to not make them too long, but the students enjoy them because they can see how the story relates to the content of the class. Storytelling reveals our humanity~~

This module has given me a pathway to embed a lot of the content in My Yearbook class! I am pleased that I can put it to use immediately!
