AI is a tool very important from now and forward.
Teaching with AI is one of the most exiting and challenging endeavors imaginable-particularly when it comes to teaching "what" to learn and "how" to learn it.
Workflow has been vital since time immemorial; however, AI serves to accelerate processes while simultaneosly opening up a much broader range of persopectives-and thet is invaluable.
In this module, I learned how artificial intelligence can support lesson planning and instructional design by helping generate ideas, activities, and more organized structures. I also understood the importance of combining these tools with professional teaching judgment.
I plan to apply this by using AI as a support tool to save time and enhance my lessons, while always adapting the content to my students’ real needs to ensure effective learning.
I learned that AI can be a valuable support tool in lesson planning and instructional design, especially for organizing ideas, generating drafts, suggesting activities, and improving efficiency. At the same time, this topic made it clear that AI should not replace the educator’s professional judgment. Decisions about learning goals, sequencing, student needs, and appropriate instructional strategies still require teaching experience and pedagogical expertise.
I intend to apply AI as a planning assistant to help me brainstorm content, structure lessons, draft assessments, and save time on repetitive tasks. However, I would still review, adapt, and refine everything based on my students, course context, and learning objectives. One important question for me is how to use AI efficiently while ensuring that the final design remains truly student-centered and academically sound.
I have been using AI to help look over new material and submit lesson plans. I have learned that multiple prompts and request for adjustments are the norm.
I learned that using AI in lesson planning is not about replacing my professional judgment, but about being more intentional with my time.
The suggestion to start small with using AI as a teacher tool is great advice. It can be overwhelming at the start so finding a small time saving application is best to see how it can help you in your classroom.
