When reviewing tuition

When reviewing tuition in the catalog with the student, I always find it best to let the student know they will be meeting with our financial aid expert to discuss tuition options and they will be able to go into more detail and answer their questions. I tell the students this so they can make note of the questions I cannot answer and are fully aware they will be speaking with a financial aid expert, who can clarify those questions or concerns.

First Blog

The first portion of this course presented clear, and concise information. The information is easy for me to digest because I agree with the ethical guidelines presented thus far. I am certain that this course will assist me in being a succesful admissions representative.

Action Plan

My plan of action is to be honest, forthright, stay updated on rules, regulations, proactively seek aditional training and do my best to be the very best admissions representative that I can be.

We chelp to change lives

I believe in order to be a sucessful Admissions Representative, the student must come first, full disclosure is the rule and one that an Admission Representative must adhere to at all times. Just tell the truth, do what's best for the student and succes will follow, what is success? Helping to chnage as many lives as we can. As Admissions Representative we are in a great position to truely help improve the quality of the llives of our students and their families for the better. What we do has a dominoe effect. The child of the student sees their parent studying, getting… >>>

Reflection

I learned a lot about the online Admissions process as well as tools. I printed a lot of information off and put it in my training folder. The course was very easy to manuver as well as smooth.

Mel's Comments

I never knew it was soo much to learn. Now, I have a better understanding of everything, and will be able to inquire intelligently, with other departments within my school. I have also developed a structured plan and a list of resources and info that I can put into a manual, for easy access. The training took approximately 4.5 hours, but was well worth the effort!

Agent Training

It is very important that Admissions take these quizzes to keep us up to date with any regulatory changes that take place.

graduation rate, placement rate, etc.

Most schools/institutions provide placement stats on their website. I suggest looking it up yourself or extending the suggestion to the prospective student.

maintain integrity

If a student inquires about something you are not sure of (placenment rate, finances, etc.) direct them to someone (preferably a person working in the school/admissions) who can give them the correct answer. Or let them know that you will find out and get the correct infromation to them.

Community Outreach

While previously working in an Admissions support role, I handled a lot of the community outreach and discussions with our articulation agreement partners.  A lot of this was self-imposed and I often took the initiative to create and nurture relationships.

Are Admissions representatives allowed to nurture relationships in the community or should that fall to marketing and business development?
